Do you have to be told to do everything. Sounds to me you don't have common sense.
If you are going to be fired for going the speed limit, yes, I think you do need to be told ahead of time. There is no "common sense" requirement to go under the speed limit and risk getting rear-ended, just because it is night.

Pti is a failing company here in the bakken. No one wants to work for them. They do not pay enough for the cost of living and how busy it is. My location has 8 drivers and 30 runs a day
We are run ragged.. To the bone... I know how to fix it...pay us more... And don't at every turn, try and fire us...they say are the best part of pti...then prove it.

I don't know who started this rumor about going under the speed limit, perhaps it was SUGGESTED to go under the speed limit, but it is NOT a fireable offense.

As for "coachtildeath"....I think I heard that same thing about Coach America but the one difference between PTI and CA - PTI is still in business AND purchased the BANKRUPT CA!!
As bad as PTI is, unless someone offers to buy them out for boo koo bucks, PTI isn't going anywhere. You will be on your second job AFTER PTI and they will still be standing.

nor is RailcrewXpress .. they are all the same ... railroads pay them BIG BUCKS to keep their crews working and on time. As I have said over and over... the railroads do NOT care who is behind the wheel. Further, the transportation companies DO NOT care who is behind the wheel.. if it is not you, they will have someone sitting in that drivers seat by the time you can say, "fired, WTF" ...the driver is a disposable commodity which is nothing more than a flicker on the official spread sheet. They don't know your name, they don't want to know your name and they don't care if you work for them for 1 month, 1 year or 10 years. There is always another person looking for a job and this sounds good to them.

But coach america, as "good as you people think they were", went bankrupt for a reason and PTI was and is in the position to buy out their contracts with the railroads and any of the vehicles that were still drivable after you people got done with them (and in fairness, that the management would fix or do routine maintenance on them). Other than that, PTI had NO USE for anything other than the contracts. If you remember, EVERY driver at every CA branch was fired and they were given the chance to apply first before PTI went out into the public to hire.

And that kids, is what railroad transportation is all about.........

Jim, can we talk to you or otber drivers about equal pay, or our pay rate, and labor issues, under the UPSEU union CBA, collective barganing agreement, without reprimand from employer management?
Thanks

Jim, I was just told by my BM that all busted runs will be $14?? Instead of $15 or $18. for busted runs with a 2 hour minimum.
Also, can PTI change employees UNION CBA without first agreeing with the union CBA?
Thanks

Jim, do you know how to make a seniority move?
If a bid goes up, and all positions are filled, by less senior drivers, can a more senior driver make a seniority move into that recent bid? Saying that more senior driver missed out on the bid for any reason.
Thanks

LMFAO!! Right now pti where I am at has a month to month contract going. BNSF here hates them. They can't keep drivers, only reason I stay is cause it's fun and I don't like retail and the guys are awesome. Coach America was run by much better people (minus the dumbass owner who bankrupted them) our drivers were twice as better as any PTI driver who have come in and "helped" us. All PTI is corporate greed and stupidity.. Are you sure you're not in management? Cause not one PTI driver I know would stick up for this company. We work 60-70 hours a week in crappy ass vehicles for crappy pay..
You sir, need to get a life lol!

since spring time it has been a part of corporate mandate complete with video. 5 under the limit at night. Period. If involved in "any" collision/deer strike, and not 5 under at night, it is a fireable offence. ANY union Rep should know this.

Have tried and tried to find an address for Coach America Crew Transport, called the phone number I had for them and it was disconnected. Googled coach america and this is where I landed. I'm trying to give that company has a reference for an employment application. What to do, what to do?

Coach America is gone ..bankrupt and bought out by Professional Transportation Inc. out of Evansville Indiana. They would have records. Why would YOU be giving a reference for CA anyway? Doesn't make any sense. Oh well, good luck

Leave pti. Your going no where. I went into truck driving. Was barely clearing $500 every 2 weeks at pti. Working myself silly to get that. Now clearing over $1,000 a week with not quite as much effort. Never going back to pti again.

Have enjoyed your posts very much.
You sound very, very brilliant.

To Bigjokethusfar,
You should have your yellow sheets on the runs you have done during the pay period. In your pay envelope each Authorization Number is listed there. You need to go one by one and check to make sure A. the number is on your pay sheet, B. your wait time is correct and C. your miles are correct.(NOTE: in your office, there is or should be a book with the miles that each railroad you drive for pays for each run which is NOT the same miles on your odometer just so you know. Ask your Branch Manager to explain the whys and wherefores of the differences)
If you find a run that was not recorded, or the wait time is wrong or the miles, see your Branch Manager and tell him/her you want to do an payroll inquirey. NO ONE BUT YOU are responsible to look at each pay sheet and check those three things. If you don't, then you have no one to blame but yourself if you have been shorted.

The drivers that still remain from coach america are the better drivers.. I have no idea where the fuck they get these people from pti... And really do you think they could have a chance if they didn't keep us drivers?? Omg jim, you...are a dumbass... Coach would probably be still going if we didn't have those crashes and the ceo replaced who ran it into the ground. I wouldn't doubt that you are the dumbass telling lies here in the bakken as a contigency driver saying we can drive more than 10 hours.. Fuck you lol! How long have you been driving? And all that about clearing $40,000 a year? The drivers in williston Dickinson and Minot clear $40,000 easy... God you are ridiculous...

I see you are one of the more "educated and intelligent" drivers we were able to keep in the take over. All those "big words" must have been hard for you to get out of your mouth just to make a point. my my...I'm impressed.
First of all, when your hourly wait time is $18.00 AN HOUR to start, what the hell do you have to complain about?? There are drivers in other states (granted the cost of living isn't so high as there, but..) who make minimum wage and might after a few years AND the Union contract, get up to $9,$10 or $12.00 an hour. Further, not one post here EVER from ME said you didn't make $40,000 a year, so put your weed down and that cheap ass beer and get a life and more importantly, get your facts straight before you open your mouth!!!
As for the downfall of CA, it was a bunch of things including the inept drivers, accidents, bad local management, dispatchers that didn't have a clue and upper management that was only out to line their pockets before they sold out (bankruptcy court). Once again, I can see you are talking out of your ass with the statement that (*I*) was a contingency driver. I had more important things to do that drive out there for ungrateful SOB's that sabotaged vans, runs and other equipment just because they were being fired (all were fired and had to qualify as a real driver, the PTI way to be hired again) and were losing their only (work AND personal) vehicle, the CA van. Yeah, when the gravy train stopped, there were lots (make that LOTS) of unhappy CA drivers, dispatchers and lower local management who were bitching.(NOTE: go back a few hundred posts and read alllll about their bitching and name calling etc.) As for the contingency drivers that came out there, they were 100% able to take over the (FEW) runs you CA drivers had and did it as well as the best (fired) CA driver all over the country. The rail crews THANKED the PTI drivers for being there and they ALL bitched and moaned about how UNsafe they were in the CA vans and the drivers and enjoyed the professionalism and the on time performance of the contingency drivers. I have seen the letters from crews and management of all the railroads when PTI took over. CA was not liked very much nor their drivers by the railroads around the country.
So anyway, them are da facts folks and as usual, "ctd" doesn't have a clue as to what he is talking about. He just stops by when he is smoking his weed and needs to feel like he knows something, which in fact, and he shows it every time he opens his mouth, that he doesn't have a clue. Also, what does it say about a person that hangs onto a company that went bankrupt, screwed their drivers over as well as the railroads they served and hired the most UNsafe drivers in the entire USA, and calls himself, "coachtildeath". I suppose had you had another job (not that you could have qualified (any) job there on any level) for a company that went under like CA, your handle here might have been, enronforlife.
