Sending helicopters to a military that is clearly out of control is not in the best interest of Russia, that is pretty justifiable. At the same time we need a cool head to continue and develop with a diplomatic process for these situations. Establish a military to protect observers and aid and find someone who can talk and reason issues out with Russia in a professional manner diplomatically without distorting the fact finding process.

What comes to mind is the possibility Russia is suffering a similar situation that of US Iraq ...this situation is clearly spreading and failure to contain the situation properly would lead it to the door step of more countries. Be smart.

What should have happening if Russia was truly helping to control the situation and stop the fighting was to supply the helicopter and pilots for the 300 observers use to stop fighting not initiate but drive back initiators.

This was all likely agreed upon back when Obama visited Russia. There has to be a major player in keeping the Iraqi WMD transported into Syria out of the hands of al Qieda without clearly establishing how duplicitous Democrats have been about the matter.

Correction: rephrase military with proper escort.
