I thought the old City Police Dept was the dirtiest office in town, but you and your ever-present flask took the rum cake. Congrats to Janna, it's about time we had a real County Attorney, not an active alcoholic who won't prosecute DWI's, plead ignorance of the law to pad his wallet, play both sides as prosecutor and defense attorney, cost the county untold thousands in special prosecutor fees due to of conflict of interest and your private practice, and hides behind his dirty wife's skirts while she threatens to sue or file complaints about any newspaper or person she thinks is picking on her passed out husband. If he's so great Cin, why did you file for divorce from him in Harris County after he cost that county tens of thousands of dollars in half a dozen hearings to make him pay his property taxes? I'm happy that Bandera is now throwing away Houston's trash.

I guess this rant is the result of a conviction in Mr. Payne's court huh.
He nail you on something pretty bad or what.
Come on tell us what you were convicted of?

Well sir, you look like an un-happy individual with his nose up everyone's arse.
Your post here is typical democrat liberal slime. Mr. Payne was defeated and yet you feel the need to slander him and his wife.
Why all the anger? I just figured you were convicted of something the way you talk.

According to his own office's statistics, Mr. Payne never convicted anyone of anything. The best he did was offer plea bargains - just a few more than the dismissals he gave out! I'm also pleased we're finally getting a real attorney in this office. Congratulations, Janna!

You do know of course bench trials and jury trials cost taxpayers money right.
lindig want a dog and pony show and sounds like you do too.
Let's just sit back and watch how this democrat handles a real job. History will not be kind to this woman. After all she is still a democrat.
Plea bargains are cost effective and get the bad guys.
As far as dismissals you need to go look at the Sheriff's department for sloppy police work that causes these dismissals and the harm it does to county citizens when they are charged with things that in the end can't be prosecuted.
Congratulations Bandera you just put a democrat in the county attorney's off.

How much money do you think Payne cost this county, when special prosecutors were appointed to dozens (at least) cases, because he was usually the defendant's lawyer? Sounds like a fiscally responsible Republican to me...ya may want to check further into Payne's background, honey...both of our candidates are Houston dems

Your a woman??? "Honey"?? What a deal and so respectful just like your hateful lying rants here.
Your candidate lied through her teeth when she was asked point blank if her name was on a plaque in Houston at the democrat headquarters for all the help she was getting obama elected---and now we all are having to live with a socialist community organizer with no leadership experience. She said no that was just a rumor and people were verbally abusing her over it. She LIED, just like obama. But nothing unusual here she is a lying democrat just like obama.
No Payne is a Republican.
You got your slimy socialist liberal democrat in office so why do you feel the need to slander others?

"Guilty pleas are often entered as the result of a plea bargain or an agreement in which a prosecutor and a defendant arrange to settle the case against the defendant. The defendant agrees to plead guilty to a specified charge in exchange for a mutually agreed-upon sentence, a sentence recommendation to the judge, or the dismissal or reduction of other criminal charges. Quite often, an agreement to testify against a co-defendant is a condition of a plea bargain.

In the United States, the supervising judge must approve of any guilty plea or plea bargain. Generally a judge will authorize the plea if the defendant makes a knowing and voluntary waiver of his right to trial, the defendant understands the charges, the defendant understands the maximum sentence he could receive after pleading guilty, and the defendant makes a voluntary confession, in court, to the alleged crime. Even if a defendant agrees to plead guilty, a judge may decline to accept the guilty plea and plea bargain if the charge or charges have no factual basis or support."

Why aren't you after the judge that accepted the plea bargains/pre trial deversions? The judge could have forced the issue as well.

Leo, you are obviously an idiot. why does every post make a reference to Obama? you apparently cannot stay on topic, and do not know the facts. Mr. Payne lied about protecting a child rapist, and you can only attack those who are "in the know." I feel for ya darlin.

Obviously, the actual taped conversation refutes that he did any wrong doing. But then again lets just sit back and watch Ms. Lindig show her true colors. Oh wait, she has already done that by verbally attacking people in a public forum. Sad, that Bandera has to be subjected to this woman and her need to instigate trouble.

Same thing happened with former County Attorney Kerry H. Schneider. You do know that right. Recusal is common and it is funny the Judge played down the money involved saying and reports said 2-3 hundred dollars per. Look up Wesley Schneider son of KH Schneider and special prosecutor Therese Huntzinger. Did you forget to mention that? Hardly a bunch of money but it makes your lie sound even better.
Do you have a list of the "dozens (at least)cases"? Maybe a dollar figure also? Or is that just another lie.

Let's talk about awards lindig got--
"Beginning some thirty five years ago, Elected Officials, Nominees and regular Democrats came together on the last Saturday morning prior to Election Day for a free Breakfast or brunch provided to rally the troops and turn out the voters to end early vote and on election day.

One of the highlights of the brunch is the awarding of the Steve Oaks Award to outstanding Democrats for their contributions to the party. Named after the late County Democratic Party Chair and Secretary of State, past recipients, who
have their names engraved on a permanent plaque located at party headquarters,
have included Sheryl Roppolo, the late J.S. Gray, Janna Lindig"

Keep in mind originally lindig lied about this democrat award as if she was ashamed. No lindig knew if she came home a democrat she would be turned away from office so she just became a RINO.
Lindig thinks so much of Bandera she only recently decided to come home. Now that is dedication if I ever saw it.

Save your breath these people aren't concerned with the truth.
And Lindig certainly isn't concerned about getting confidential investigation material from the Bandera Sheriff's Office only to spread it like dirty laundry. She even gave this info about an alleged crime to a local attorney and Steve was more than excited to use it to try to get at John Payne just before the election.
Remember Mr. Payne soundly defeated Steve in his bid against Mr. Payne for County Attorney.
Who knows what litigation might come out of this.

the sheriffs dept was not at fault in any way for 2 of those dismissals , AND there is more than enough to prosecute . the victims are also county citizens .

The taped conversastion proves he as a lawyer (with an ethics code) is guilty of betraying the public trust, a major part of his job is to protect the citizens of Bandera County (that is why charges were filed against him with the State Bar, hopefully we will know soon the out come),As a lawyer he cannot represent the County and a private client in a criminal case, he is using the deputys permission as his excuse for what he did, but he is the lawyer not her and he broke his oath. John Payne, has pulled the same stunt 2 other times, this time it invoves an innocent little girl who was brutally raped by one boy as she was being held down by 2 others and being recorded on a cell phone, because of John Paynes intervention the evidence was destoyed . The investigation material was given to her by the Sheriff deputy in charge of the investigation and it was public knowlege. Steve had all the information as he had filed a complaint with the State Bar. John won the election over Steve by a narrow margin, Jana kicked Johns ASS in both the primary and the run off.
Niether of our local rags gave us much info, We had to go to the SA paper.

You seem to be be liberal scum sucker here. I went to the Houston Democrat Headquarters and could not find the above mentioned plaque, are you the lair or did you just repeat the montra like all of Obamas minions do and repeated what you were told to say? Both John and Janna at one time were Democrats, so was Ronald Reagan.

Thirty five years ago? My Math says 1977, is this correct? Dolph Briscoe A conservative DEMOCRAT was Governor and Texas was a Democrat state until Ronald Reagan split off the "Reagan Demacrats" who have been Republicans every since, Bandera County only had Democrats in office (history lesson over). How foolish you are to use this as the only example of her Democratic leanings. You stated in another posting that she was an Obama supporter and a community Organizer, where is the proof? Anyone can make things up and smear their reputations with lies, you Obama Democrats have been doing it for5 years (see how easy it is).

So s sheriff's investigator gives you something that is illegal for you to have much less give to an attorney with an ax to grind against Payne and he has already filed suit so that makes it OK.
Lindig needs her butt prosecuted not for receiving the information but for giving it to God know who.
This was not "public knowlege" when Lindig was gining it out and the names are still not public.
You must be one of the lindig girls right.
