Here we are again a child molester getting off with a smack on the hand, lord for bid he was a drug dealer,A weed dealer gets more time for selling sacks then a child molester gets for taking advanatage of a child. If this was my daughter i never would have called the police,I would have been just as cold and calculated as this monster,we would noit be sitting here talking about how little time this guy got. prosecutors wake up and smell the coffe quit letting these people who pray on our children off with such a lite sentence.Whos going to monitor this clown in six years because we all know theres a gang of molesters now the state cant monitor, and one other thing quit protecting this trash let him go to genral population not to some dorm where theres two hundred other monsters just like him,let him be a big boy,let him worry about getting raped, stabed etc.

See how much the Diocese of Columbus did for their Priests by keeping them all out of jail? Just send them here and there till the heat dies down.
Good lawyering DoC. Who can litigate like the Diocese of Columbustan? Best Silencing of the Lambs in all the land.
Until we stand before the judgment seat of Christ (the first victim of priests and theocracy) Whats he going to do then? charge your victims with trespassing the way you do now? Tickle your infallible Petre as a reward?

I demand the Pope apologise to the President for the rape of American military orphans by priests. All of US together.

This guy was a Pentecostal pastor. There is no association with the Catholic diocese or the Pope. Still, sad to see someone who claims to be devoted to the Lord commit such a heinous crime.

Shame on Mr. Monk! Three years is not a severe enough. He preyed on a young girl. He should have prayed for her. Too many people are hiding behind The Bible. This young lady went to him for compassion and help....not more pain and confusion.

I have been reading all of the comments about the United Pentecostal Church and their ministers. As the child of a UPC minister, I am familiar with UPC scandals. The news got me thinking about Ohio UPC church scandals over the past 20+ years. I started enumerating them in my mind and was shocked by how long the list was. The list of present and former UPC ministers reads like a who's who, of bad behavior.
The most obvious are those now in the news. That would be the Pastor David Thompson case and this Pastor Daniel Monk teen sex case.

Also, in the past few years:

There was a former UPC church in Westerville. The pastor sold the church for over a million dollars. He and all of the churches money has left town.

A UPC church in Galloway saw the pastor was ousted for being involved with illegal drugs and a woman of ill repute.

On Groveport Rd., The UPC pastor resigned over money dealings. He now has the UPC church in Westerville.

There was a UPC church on Toy Rd., near Groveport. The pastor sold their new church building to the Muslims and moved out of town. It is now a Muslim Mosque.

The UPC Ohio District Superintendent's son, also a UPC minister, was recently divorced amidst some scandalous accusations.

Going back a few more years:

One of their larger churches was formerly on Greenwood Ave., Former Pastor Ferguson divorced his wife and married his mistress, a church secretary.

A UPC pastor in Lancaster, was having extramarital affairs with two different women in his church at the same time. As I recall, it was exposed when one of the women became pregnant.

A UPC pastor in Wheelersburg, was voted on to the Ohio District Board. Within days he was ousted for having an extramarital affair.

According to TV news reports, a former UPC pastor named Willie Davis, also crossed paths with the law. Coincidentally, he was once pastor of the same UPC church that is at the center of the David Thompson case. The news reports said that Davis was running an illegal pyramid, ponzi scam. They reported that millions were stolen form various UPC and other church members. Davis's son-in-law, also a pastor, later lost his pastorate over an extramarital affair with a woman in his church.

The UPC's Ohio District board was sued in a Franklin county by one of their own ministers.

A UPC church in West Jefferson saw their pastor was ousted for forgery and other crimes.

An older UPC pastor in Reynoldsburg was removed for having an extramarital affair with a young woman in his church.

An older UPC pastor in Delaware OH, was also removed for having an extramarital affair with a young woman in his church.

An older UPC pastor,in Zanesville, OH, was likewise removed for having an extramarital affair with a young woman in his church.

The pastor of a UPC church in East Toledo, was reportedly having extramarital gay sex with young men that were UPC church members.

There was another UPC minister in the news named Ron Smith. He evidently went to prison on drug charges and later died of a drug overdose.

This is only some of the Ohio scandals I recall. There have been some big time UPC headquarters men that turned out to be gay, One of them was even arrested for soliciting gay sex in a public park.

One could write a 1000 page book on this UPC scandal stuff. I must say there are a few good men that are ministers in that fellowship. Unfortunately they are so few and far between, it is like looking for a pearl at the bottom of a garbage can.

What is so bogus about most of these UPC preachers is how they try to control everyone's life in their church, when they cannot control their own life. Obviously, I saw to much when I was young and don't want anything to do with the UPC. Fortunately, my father saw the light before he passed away and left the UPC too. There are a lot of good churches out there that people can go to without being a church slave to a hypocrite UPC pastor.

And yet people continue to blindly follow these false profits. Religion is not a passion for faith or the love of God. It is a business. Tell me why you have to have a multimillion dollar church to pray in when all you need is God in your heart. And by creating these huge churches, it makes the ministers, pastors, reverend etc.... feel untouchable and powerful enough to go out and do whatever they want.

LOL ...I wonder if that false prophet, profited from all of his false prophecy?

Seriously, the core problem that created this Daniel Monk case is being overlooked. That is the fact that the majority of ministers in Monk's former church fellowship, The United Pentecostal Church, have neither the education or the training to counsel anyone.

Many people see a pastor and assume that he or she has some accredited degree or training. That is not always the case, especially in Pentecostal churches. Many of these pastors decided that they have a calling to be a minister and started preaching. Many are blue collar workers that decided being a minister was better than working a real job.

When these self-anointed, uneducated, pastors, usurp the position of a mental health professional, it is the most outrageous form of malpractice. I have seen them destroy many a family with their misguided advice. Unfortunately, this Daniel Monk case is not unique. A number of pastors have fallen into affairs with women they were attempting to council. This would not be happening if they were not pretending to be a professional counselor.

I sincerely hope that this young woman and her family file a lawsuit against Monk and his former UPC church fellowship. Their pretense of being professional counselors is tantamount to practicing medicine without a license. Someone needs to take them to court and put a stop to it.

It is noteworthy that there was another victim of Daniel Monk's crimes. His mother-in-law, who attended the the hearing, was so distraught after the sentencing that she had a heart attack and passed away.

Memphis largest UPC church scandal now rocks this large church. Pastor resigned over the entire family taking money from church some didnt even have jobs at the church yet the son was on the payroll @$100,000 salary and pastor buying BMW'S and Cadillacs for grandkids Pastor took $300,000 salary. Wife took $100,000. All daughters and son in laws taking huge salaries. The board was made up of his son in laws. TPC had a regions scandal in 1985 when the Bishop's son was pastor and was caught by Decons with secretary at his home while church service was going on and pastor wife on front row. Then just before preaching time he magically showed up. They finally caught them. But HS father was the bishop of the UPC and because of his last name he got to move and take over another church if his last name was jones he would have be kicked out. Because according to UPC by laws & doctrine of bible no bishop can minister if he commits adultery. Except u r in the family of the bishop then its ok. I also was mokested by a Sunday school teacher of a UPC church in Addison IL at 14 years old and they didnt do anything. Sad thing is people of power knew he was a child Molestor as he attempted to mokest their son but failed because the child got away and called his parents they kept it from the pastor until my aunt revealed this cover up to me and then I hear in 2012 another teen escaped ths guys molesting advances and this is 2 kids before me and they hid the crimes of abuse and child endangerment thus many more were molested because of their silence and that kids parents ran the money and were in the music and teachers their last America and position of power meant more to them than my body mind and soul and my sexuality and virginity. This guy has molested a few more after me and still was never deat with and the perp is still single in another church. There are straight child molestors that are abusing young boys and girls. But the UPC don't allow TV which s stupid but to e I think it's because they r afraid of the news media. But I plan on exposing my story I have recently gotten counsel. I have been warned by a few members who I thought were friends that I better be very careful of what I say against their church because I can be sued. I found out that the law says I an speak or write anything in public that pertains to crimes against me as long as the story is true so they better be very afraid. For too long they r mokesting boys like the Catholics but it just has not Coe put because they don't allow media and news or TV in the homes of saints. That's in their bylaws. Preachers cannot own a TV with a UPC license. Sad. Sick and I am fed up with it. This destroyed my life and it happened for 5 years I ran from my parents house 600 miles to live with my uncle and aunt to a church to escape abse in my own home thinking I would be safe in ther church but oh how I was so wrong abuse got me and fast. It happened within the first month of my arrival ! Straight men in the church prey on the boys that are weak or emotional. It's sick. Don't ever trust your kids to be with even married straight men because they r offenders too. Also the church blames abuse on gay people. But gays do not mower kids. Research the statistics it's mostly straight males adults who most boys. It's not a matter of gender but rather a young person s the target male or female. Don't send ur kids to church without you. In my moms church where I first came from abuse has happened but swept under the rug. They think all u need is to pray and FORGET ABOUT IT GIVE IT TO GOD. that's BS. THE UPCI also had a scandal in one of its colleges with a huge name song writer the whoe world knows who wrote a lot of songs he was the head of the school and he was arrested for soliciting sex in airport bathroom. I believe he was arrested. The UPC kicked him out quickly.

On my personal story I called this kids mom which the child molestor attempted to moest her son, who ran the church money and I said I need to ask for their forgiveness because I was angry all of these years and I held a grudge because they kept silent and did nothing to stop this Sunday school teacher after he attempted to molest their son. She had the nerve to say to me that he deserves grace just like me. Not once did she say I'm. Sorry or ask if I was ok or ask if I need help but gave me a freaking lecture from the bible stories about me needing to forgive and how the Molestor deserves mercy just like me. She was cold and rude about it like how dare u call and criticize my decision. She also said that I didn't know what it was like to be in her shoes at the time so therefore I had no right to judge her decision to keep it quiet the only cared about their family name and they got salaries for running the church money. Her husband was the president of a bank and they had positions of power in this church many positions more than 2 each. They held 4 titles plus one title together.
I wanted to say if it were not for r silence mam I would not have to call u because if u would have outed this Molestor then I would still have my self worth They don't care because they r running another church and have the power over the money where they r now. It's all about their name and position. My body mind and soul meant nothing to these people. They cannot hide this scandal from god if there is one. They may have hidden it from people until now but the universe saw it and Karma is very real. I called the church headquarters and they put words in my mouth saying you really r not looking to sue anyone are you, he said you sound as though u just want to make sure he is not hurting anyone else. I said I don't want him in any church until he confesses his crime repents and gives an apology to his victims. They were afraid of me that day I could hear it. The UPCI has money. They r a very large church world wide.
Better know your church and your pastor and I would not trust my kid in anyone's church even if the pastor is right because all his workers are not exempt from sin and neither r pastors

I am about to start a website for victims of child abuse that come out of UPC churches. Have different pages for different churches because if some want to take legal action we can assist in the statues. Every state is different. But states and statues can be removed if the judge sees fit to remove. Know ur rights ask questions. But I think a site to help victims be able to vent and share stories and seek advice. Abuse destroys a person for ever. U really never get over its. And I'm sick of the church telling folks to just forget about it. BS. u never forget. It will be with u for ever !
Anybody know if a site exist for victims of abuse at the hands of the church and authority positions within the church ???? I think we need to start a movement and put these freaks behind bars and stop them before they hurt another child.
