I feel that I must speak on behalf of at least one of the family of victims in these cases. Mr. White and Mr. Sullivan didn't just steal possessions from all of the victims in their crime spree, they stole our sense of security and well being. Our family, as I'm sure all the others in these cases, worked very hard for what they have/had. And just because (as one poster put it) Mr. White couldn't provide for his own family, he is justified in stealing from all of us. That is just inexcusable to me. We feel violated and terrified in our own home, is that justifiable? No one deserves to be put through the terrible crimes that they've committed.
As for the "dog" that was killed by Mr. White and Mr. Sullivan’s selfish acts. Allie was not just a dog, she was a member of our family. My husband has had her since he could hold her in the palm of his hand. She was his companion for the last 9 years. It has been an absolute horrific tragedy to endure in our family. My husband hasn't slept in the last 3 days. Our son has cried himself to sleep the last 2 nights because he misses his dog. Some of you may say that she was just a "dog," and I feel sorry for you. She was defenseless against that gun and doing what she was taught to do, protect her family. Which any human being put in this situation would have done too. So where are her rights in this? And I feel that I must also point out that if not for her bravery against these two who can say what would have happened to my brother in-law who was sleeping at the time and was awoken by her actions. If they could force other victims at gun point and kill a dog, what would their crimes have escalated to?
I applaud the valiant efforts of the Fairfield county sheriff’s office and the Columbus PD for their swift efforts and being able to apprehend these two in a timely manner from our case. And to the ASPCA/ Humane Society for treating Allie with the care and dignity that she deserved.
These crime/s are not about race to us, and I'm sorry to see that this is what a majority of the post on here are about. For us it is about the fear that we now having being in our own home, it is about the loss of a very important member of our family, and the destruction of our family. They chose us, we didn’t choose them to burglarize our home and kill a family member. Yes, they will be judged, and by a much higher power than any human being, and hopefully for their cowardice more than anything else.
