When Dr Potter first came to town I had to see her for an appointment. She made me feel very uncomfortable. Later I found out she's a Lesbian!! Had I know this I would NEVER have gone to her. She asked If I wanted any STD screenings done, I told her no that I knew I was clean. She did them and charged me anyway, she also charged me for several other things like a weight consultation and I just ask her if my weight was normal. She is a quack and a rip off! My cousin used to work for her and Dr potter royally screwed her over.

Sylva Resident, your comments about Dr Potter are rude and inflammatory.

This clinic seems like it would be okay, but personally I prefer the assistance of Utah midwives since the care provided is much more personable and consistent. http://www.birthingathome.com/

i have to say i am very sorry that some of you feel that way towards dr potter. her and her staff are wonderful people. when i first met dr potter i had just been admitted to the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured and for some reason GOD seemed fit to send her to me, my body was failing and i was bleeding internally. she truly was my miracle worker. three months later i ended up pregnant with my daughter who is now almost three. she was the only one and i mean the only at the time in the practice she was with that fought to save my daughters life and i owe her everything because without and God not only would my daughter not be here but also my 5 month old son. her and her staff are wonderful, and you need to realize yes they are human just like us they make mistakes but you also need to realize the two hours you had to wait or the thirty minutes or whatever is most likely because they are tending to other patients or in emergency surgery or delivering babies and you need to be considerate of there time too. because at some point it might be you on the opposite end that is making her patients wait. so with no more said i recomend this practice to anyone seeking an obgyn office and i will continue sending everyone your way dr potter, cindy and anne, love you girls.

If Dr. Potter is so great, why have all the midwives transfered out to other practices?

I think that some doctors are good with some patients but they cannot be ALL THINGS to ALL PEOPLE. If you like them, then stay and if not, then leave. Free country. :)

After a confirmation visit, my husband and I had to move. We only had that one appointment with Dr. Potter and it was incredibly difficult. She didnít want to provide any care for us since we would have to find a new doctor in our new city, but with our health insurance coming to an end I just had to start prenatal care somewhere. I wish we hadnít wasted our time with this very unprofessional organization. I have been calling the office for the past three weeks requesting that they transfer my records to my new doctorís office. I filled out all of the proper paper work and my new doctor even sent a request. To date, my new doctor has received 1/3 of my file. There is a lot missing. Also, when applying for Medicaid a signed letter with a due date is required as proof of pregnancy. This letter has never been faxed (even after multiple requests from myself and the case worker) so my husband and I are paying for every visit out of our own pockets. What choice do we have? Itís either that or skip prenatal care altogether.

I have read the previous comments regarding Dogwood Women's Health. The office, and my imediate Doctor, Dr Potter have demostrated the up most proffessionalism, and caring during a very unconfortable time. I have apreciated the "time" spent by the Doctor explaining my options, and assisting me with making the best choice and making me feel at ease as well. I would certainly recommend this office, and Dr Potter to anyone going through what I have. I have the upmost respect for Dr Potter and the entire staff and do wish to share this forum with anyone who may have any concerns or searching for an excellent Doctor, and may have concerns that this may put your mind at ease.

I have been seeing Dr. Potter & her staff for about 2 years now. The staff has always treated me with respect and care. Dr. Potter has a great manner, she is a straight shooter, she has immense knowledge, she is more than willing to give of her time and yes, soemtimes that means a bit of a wait. But it is well worth it, because I want a doctor that is willing to spend that extra time with her patients. I struggled with peri-menopause and menopause, and Dr. Potter was very reassuring. She has a fantastic sense of humor. I would trust her any of the young ladies in our family. She's the bomb!!!!

i have had 3 miscarriages with no babies yet but two of them have been under Dr. Potters care and with the third miscarriage i thought Dr. were suppose to do everything in their power to find out what was going on but she did not she did one test and after waiting six weeks for my results she said their was nothing more she could do, she acted like she didn't even care what i was going though, she didn't refer me to a specialist. so im saying that i will Never go back to Dr. Potter..............

I was at that practice for a while, only because I follow Cindy where eve she goes. However, while there, I did experience a total lack of communication numerous times. Withe my last "birth" in 2011 I had signed all the paper work to have my tubes tied. I had been given the pamphlet on the Essure and DID NOT want it. A week prior to my induction, Cindy called to inform me that Dr. Potter had tlooked over my records and said that she would not "tie my tubes" because she didn't feel that was the best option for me. Of course Cindy didn't know how to answer the questions that I had for Dr. Potter as she was just the messenger. I am not allergic to anything and hav never had any problems with being put under etc. So I ended up not ahving anything done :( Just a strange operation. I would like to know why all the midwives left, though.

i have nothing but praises and overwelming joy when i think about dr potter and her staff, i have recommended many many people to their office and absolutely love them. there have been days that i have waited long periods of time to be seen or even got there to be rescheduled but until you have walked in their shoes and dr potters mainly do not judge or be harsh, for crying out loud people are human and the woman is busy delivering babies and emergency surgeries and scheduled surgeries. and sometimes there are complications and they take extra time and i am not saying your time is not important but please realize this lady and her staff bring lives and save lives daily so maybe have some consideration, like i have said i love this practice and will continue to send people her way and i will continue my care there as well.

I am VERY disappointed with the level of non-compassion that I received there. I was left hanging about a surgery and called EVERY other day just like they told me to every time I called for a month. I NEVER one time got a call back and never got an answer. I eventually called another practice who told me the same day the specifics of my insurance and what I would need to pay and scheduled the surgery that day. I honestly hope they don't do this with all patients.

Her Sexual Orientation does not matter to me. I have also had male OBGYN's and I was pretty sure they were straight. That doesn't matter. I just was not cared for. I felt that I was not a priority, I could not get a call back to even schedule my surgery. She dismissed my concerns and although was initially nice to me, I could never get anyone to call me back or schedule my surgery. I went to a different OBGYN had to be re-diagnosed and had the surgery. They still have yet to call me back. Am I still on their list of people to call about a surgery?

I was very disappointed in Dr. Potter and her staff when I saw her for a culposcopy at the Franklin office. Everyone was at least 30 minutes late opening the office and Dr. Potter was over an hour late just arriving at the office. I can understand her being late if she had a delivery or an emergency but I don't see how that would affect even the secretary.

She was very unfriendly and seemed like she wanted to just get my appointment over as quickly as possible so she could catch up. After the procedure I was in incredible pain and discovered that she had cut both sides of my vagina with the speculum.

They also did not call with my results like they said they would, I had to call more than once to know the results. They also never scheduled or called about the follow up PAP smear I was supposed to have 6 months later; I chose to go somewhere else.

As of 9/19/2012 she has lost her privileges at Harris Regional and is giving to notification or explanation to her patients. The midwives who worked with her have also left the practice. I know Cindy has moved to another based in Sylva but I am not sure where the others have gone.

I have been seeing Dr. Potter for approx. 3 years. I am an older adult with some health issues. Dr. Potter has been very helpful. I have nothing but good to say about
Her. I am sure there are issues with patients which is not always the Dr.'s fault. I have had to wait longer at times, but was because she was delivering a baby. I have had to wait
To see every Dr. I go to. Some people are just hard to please. Thank you Dr.Potter for Caring.
