This seems a lot like the global warming issue. You make millions available to study it and guess what, people taking the money find it.

Who needs clean water? A little trichloroethylene or benzene is good for your system. After all, we can trust corporations to properly dispose of waste right?......... Thanks Scotty!

The article said viruses were the problem. Those substances are not viruses. This was just another case of government over-reach. People in my area get their water from wells. They take personal responsibility to have their water checked. They don't need big daddy government spending gobs of tax money to do it for them. Besides, most well water tastes a lot better when it's not chlorine flavored.
