Max is Watching Us

I was very angry when I found out that Ms. Harrison was asking a student about his visits to our home. Why is she curious about us?

Today, I learned that Max, the cop, went to a person and told him that he suspects my husband of smoking pot and he is watching us.

Filing a lawsuit against Bettsville for slander, libel, and defamation of character is starting to sound real good to me.

My husband hasn't smoked pot for 3 years and he's not a pedophile (another Bettsville rumor).

Our home was shot up, our lawn was destroyed. You couldn't do anything about that but you sure can gossip.

Max is watching everyone!... The village could use a few more just like him. IF you are doing nothing wrong then you should have nothing to worry about.

So you agree that Big Brother should be watching us? What happened to our freedoms that people have accepted and, as you have, even welcomed being watched?

Max warned a friend of ours to stay away from us so they won't get in trouble, too.

Guilt is being assumed here. Would you like him running around telling people he suspects you?

There is a big difference between Big Brother watching and local law enforcement doing thier job. I for one am happy to finally see some police activity in the village. As far as what you heard... if you did not hear it from max personally then it is hearsay. You of all poeple should know about how the rumors in this little villge are out of control. Again, I have nothing to hide, the police can watch me all they want.

Watching is fine...after all, they are here to protect us. I'm glad that Don is Chief and that we have police presence in the village. I dislike the police helping to spread rumors.

Max won't tell me about it because he knows it's wrong. Just like Ms. Harrison not calling me back about questioning a student about what went on when he visited us. She knows she's wrong.

Things like this just keep the rumors going.

Come search my house, do drug tests but stop spreading rumors.

never say crap about Ms. harrison or i will make sure your life is complete hell while you still live in bettsville. she is never wrong she is supposed to ask question she is the guidence counsler. just becuase tyler kiser and your husband Bob Roberts smoke weed together and you dont wanna get cought with it, dont blame it on the cops they are doing there jobs. i know your busband goes around town buying weed from local bettsville citizens and smokes it with young children. i hope you and your husband get cought for it. you deserve to. thats why you have your house up for sale so you dont get cought. i could get so much proof that your husband does that i could have him locked up for life.

I don't take kindly to threats from 14-year-old children. I'm taking the threats seriously because I know what he's capable of doing. Therefore, I intend to protect my family and my property.

I know this is an old post, but I would like say something.
Lumina, do you know what the job of a guidence counselor is? When a child is in trouble, they go to Mrs.Harrison. She is a great woman, a strong woman, that knows how to talk to the kids. She would NEVER violate their trust, unless it was needed. Something must be going on in your home, to where she thought she needed to find out for the safety and protection of the students that she loves... I highly recomend leaving that town. Your husband sounds like he needs some serious help, you yourself said "I'm taking the threats seriously because I know what he's capable of doing" Well, that sounds like you know what he has done to some of these teenage boys. Maybe he should turn himself in???

Thank you so much Village Outcast. Mrs.Harrison is the greatest woman I know. A strong woman who survived breast cancer, she deserves whatever she wants in this world. She has been here for me and my family for my whole life. She is incredible if she ever needed anything I would be there for her. Her and Paul are wonderful to the children and the community, she would do anything for anyone at anytime. I use to always be in her office, and everyday kids would come in asking for lunch money and you know what she gave it to them. She gave atleast ten dollars away a day to children. She doesn't deserve any criticism whatsoever. It is simply unreasonable to even have the thought of bashing her caring personality at anytime. Thank you.

All we've ever done here is try to keep a sale and secure environment for the kids to come here and have something to do instead of being on the streets getting in trouble. Mrs. Harrison knew that. She listened to rumors from some troublemakers and crossed a line.

She is a wonderful person who made a mistake. Now it's over and we all need to move on.

How in the world did Mrs. Harrison make a mistake?! She took something seriously, RUMOR OR NOT! She was concerned!!! That is her job, do you not understand??? If your child came in and said something along the lines of them being sad, or angry about you- shes going to investigate it.
HER JOB IS TO CARE FOR THE STUDENTS, AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE DID. You are only upset because it got you in trouble.

Whether this is an old post or not "Troy" and "Village Outcast" are right. How dare somebody EVER say something like that about Mrs. Harrison. That woman is a godsend. without her over half of the Bettsville students wouldn't know what to do. She gives and gives and gives and never expects anything in return! So honestly, that really makes me angry you would say anything. As for you and your husband, I don't personally know either of you but I have spoken with you both before. As for Max.Really? He is trying to do his job. Whether he does a good job at it or not he is doing his job. Everyone is going to have their own opinion about it. Like someone said earlier, why do you care so much if you have nothing to hide. I myself also found it creepy that you would invite young children into your house. All the kids I've seen leave your house and go into the school/world have all been the known trouble makers. So really, I have no reason to believe it's a "safe haven" for them.
