The summer's warmest days typically follow in the weeks just beyond July 4. But you'd never know it from the weather of recent days.

I notice all of the Chicken Littles yelling "Global Warming" have been absent, especially since we spent the night watching fireworks under a blanket. Now we get a little heat & humidity back and they will be coming out of the woodwork. I wish they would all get real jobs instead of relying on government funds for their research and paychecks.

Oh good.... lots of heat and humidity. I was beginning to think Comm Ed was going to miss out on the energy gouging the oil companies have been feasting on.

Global warming is not responsible for day-to-day fluctuations, only global averages of increases small enough you wouldn't notice them. I have never heard anyone blame hot weather on global warming, stop bringing up straw men.

"Global Warming" has turned from being a global crisis to a global laugh-line. Since all four major models that track temperatures agree that there has been no net warming at all of the earth in ten years now, the jokes are starting to come fast and furious. Al Gore, James Hansen and the other "Chicken Littles" are getting their richly deserved derision.

Jeez, Terry! <laughing> How many times do you have to be told? There's a difference between weather and climate.

Global warming is not about what it feels like today, its about long term- geological time scale-increases in mean global temperature.

Global warming is also not partisan. I dont know why people think it is. Its like saying I smoke, and therefore Im a republican. The two dont have anything to do with one another.

Global warming is also not isolated to just our country. It affects everyone.

I personally am not convinced by just 10 years of data. When talking on geological time scales, 10 years is a blip. If you tracked warming from the industrial revolution onward, whats the result?

But actually 2005 is believed to be the warmest year on record, global warming wise.

"Global Warming" is a misnomer, in any case. It is not just about warming trends but about severe climate changes. I agree with the posts above. We need to look at global climate, not local weather. While we have been enjoying cool weather, look at what has been happening in other parts of the country and other parts of the world.

Take a look at the funding of those scientists who are saying that nothing is going on. Many are directly funded by Big Oil and other industries.

Folks, Climate change is here, but we will all be dead before the full effects are felt. So don't worry, be happy.

Careful when you turn that A/C on.
Daley will get you for a cooling excess tax each time the A/C unit turns on.

Chicago is the greatest city in the history of the world. The recent shootings in downtown Chicago at the Taste and on the South Side should be ignored. I mean not everbody at the Tast got shot , did they?

Agreed with what you said about climate change. Its not just about warm/cool. Its about total climate fluctuations. Well put.

I'll take cool summer weather anytime we're lucky enough to get it. Don't know why the TV weather people and anchors assume that we're all delighted to have temps in the upper 80s.

It should not be called Global Warming, it should be called Global Climate Change. By calling it Global Climate Change, CO2 can still be blamed when the temperatures are below average.
