Hey Look, the city of Baldwyn made the big time.
Local school workers visiting casinos in cars paid for by tax paying suckers.
Reported to be 10PM at night....must be town business, that time at a casino.

Wow. What a deal. The entitlement crowd should be ashamed, but I KNOW they won't.

I'm here now at the Goldstrike and there was a football coaches clinic here this weekend sponsored by Nike.

Well, if the taxpayers want to foot the bill for a coach to go to a clinic, I guess that is up to them.

Seems to me that is voluntary and not part of the job.

Teachers in NJ pay their own way to get to their annual convention. As do Firefighters and Police.

I just think that perhaps the people paying the bills should know. If they know, and are OK with it, it's no one's business.

OMG! How ignorant can you people be??? The coach was there for a meeting, get off your gossip boxes! State government meetings have been being held in casinos for years. If you want the perks of a state employee then go apply for a job!! But from the posts made here and on the other site you're probably too dumb or young to know how! Get a life!

Oh a ball coach is a govt employee? What happens to the lawsuit if that car is involved in an accident? Who pays for that? Oh thats right, this is for an all important ball game, that is acceptable-----NOT!

BTW, I suppose if one used your reasoning, it would be alright with you if that car was used to visit a prostitute male or female while at the hotel. It appears that you would condone that also, after all they are a coach, they need to get anything they want and it is a perk!

He was parked there because that's where his room was you idiot! When you go to a meeting for work do you not take a company car or charge mileage for using your personal vehicle? Or do you even work? The car is used for driver's ed and for travel purposes. Duh!!'

Wow! So the tax money pays for the car, the tags, the insurance, maintenance and the gasoline for a coach to go to a meeting. Multiply this times how many school districts there are. Lot of taxpayer money spent there for "education" of a coach.Just what does that have to do with educating kids? No wonder Mississippi is on the bottom! Why do they not meet at a scool?

This wasn't a meeting for work, it was a sponsored mid-south coaches meeting . Should have seen all those coaches drinking and gambling......didn't see any from Baldwyn, but then I don't know any of them. So it wasn't a mandatory meeting, it was a confrence for coaches from all over, MS, AL, TN, MO, AR and LA

Hmmmmmmmm..........Does anyone else thinks Citizen of Baldwyn is a bit too defensive?
Maybe Citizen of Baldwyn is the coach in question?

I think this needs to be passed up to the school board and the local paper.

Wrong again my friend! I am not even employed by the city, but I do know him. I am a tax payer and who could blame him if he dropped a few bucks in the slot machine or whatever....

Settle down government and state employee bashers: NIKE hosts several coaching clinics around the US. Numerous NCAA Coaches were there, at the Goldstrike, as that's where NIKE chose to have it - as they have for several years. The accomodations are nice and there are enough rooms in the location to handle all the people that attend. MANY SEC, Big12, and CUSA coaches and assistant coaches, just to name a few, attend and give instruction, insights, and game planning strategies just to name a few. They also have doctors and PT discuss safety issues and equipment issues to high school coaches and administrators so they can learn how to better hydrate and keep players safe during practice and play. They are taught the warning signs for concussions, etc... and way too numerous other things to put into a single, short response. 4 coaches from the school went and went in the school's drivers education car. There is nothing wrong with that at all. And since it was mentioned in a thread above about the car being paid for by taxpayers, that car was actually donated to the school by Toyota MFG Blue Springs. Thanks Toyota for supporting the schools in North MS! People have some common sense. Now if nothing had been going on, I would probably wonder myself. This, however, is a non-issue.

I can't believe some of you people have nothing better to do than blow something this minute into a debate! Seriously, you have gone from this car being at casino for a football conference to comparing it to citizens condoning the use of said coaches to use to pick up prostitutes??? Do you know how many young teenage males have no one to look up too or take any interest in what they do? These coaches, most I do know personally, go above and beyond their necessary duties to help these young men! I guess bc you think this was a "non-educational" event, we should just punish everyone and take sports out of our school!!! They could always drop out and sell drugs on the corner, huh??? Grow up, and worry about a problem that is equal to the magnitude of energy you are putting into this parked car at a football conference! Gosh, I now know why I never visit this white-trash, drama filled site! BUT its a good thing I do every so often it helps keep my priorities in order and shows me how proud I am not to be some of you drama loving people!!!!
