I have already received two tickets for turning on red. That camera s defective and furthermore, there is no sign posted that you cannot turn on red. I always stop before turning and still get tickets. I do not have money to waste and the county needs to investigate this camera ASAP!!!!!!

I agree with Scott! I personally am sick and tired of drivers rolling through the right turns as if they have the right of way. Basically, whether it's a right turn on red or a stop sign. You STOP FIRST and if it's clear then you can proceed. Now stop the bellyaching and obey the law then you won't get tickets. End of Story.

I tested the theory of the rolling right on red. I found that I was not given a ticket after stopping for a count of 3 at the light before turning. But my friend did not stop as long and he received a ticket, in other words if you don't stop long enough you will be ticketed. Now just for clarification we didn't do this on purpose but noticed it as an after thought, be cautious!

got a ticket for making a right turn on the red light, on Bundy and Pico...where there was clearly no traffic coming from either way for $446....WTF...$446 ...

City has turned into thieves!
We need to protest against this..

I stopped for 3.9 seconds before turning right, and got a ticket for $446. I have never had more than a parking ticket my entire life.

Thanks for all the traffic cameras Tom Souzzi EX Nassau County Exe. you low life D*uchebag.. between this B*S and your sleeping with Charles Wang and trying to force feed his Lighthouse/Lefrak City development upon us in the midst of suburbia do you understand why you were voted out of office? Then Newzday/Cabalvision gives you a padded no show job working for the Varsity channel after your being voted out just shows how all these rich crooked types run together.

Another serious matter that has not received much media attention;

May God bless and have mercy on us.

What can residents do to fight back on this and get the cameras removed? If anything I consider them dangerous and see people stopping short to avoid even going through the lights when they are yellow.

I was told by one of the guys that marks off where they need to run the conduit to link into the traffic control system who talked to the installers that you should wait 10 seconds to avoid getting a right on red ticket. On a side note since it uses an inductive loop to trigger the cameras vehicles with little metal will not even set it off, sportbike owners know about this problem with red lights.

Instead of attacking the cameras people should attack the computer connected to them which is usually lower, or the link to the induction loop. Or an even more amusing idea would be to drop cheap rare earth magnets around the induction loops thereby fooling the system into thinking there is always a car in the intersection. You have to get creative in the police state.
