Either she's staying with relatives or friends of friends. Being 15, distraught over a breakup is a drag. We were all there. But Kimberly, if you're out there, rise to the surface, call off the charade, unveil the mystery and talk it over with your folks. They'll understand. A better tomorrow is the best medicine.

Am I the only one that thinks a photo may have been appropriate?

I doubt Kimberly is reading Newsday today, "Sensible One".

Perhaps she is pregnant, does not know what to do, and cannot bring herself to face her parents with the news just yet. They may have told her something like, "if you ever come home pregnant, we will kill you," and now she IS pregnant, cannot bring herself to have an abortion, and is too afraid to tell them.

I think that the family and police should have immediately issued an "AMBER ALERT" along with pictures of this young lady.
AMBER ALERTS have been very successful

No picture on a story about a missing little girl, from the same "newspaper" that reports crime stories with the useful info "police are looking for a man". I'm not surprised.

NO, We ALL do. It's the FIRST thing I thought of, but Newsday didn't think it was appropriate for some reason. Maybe more pictures would mean they would have to RAISE the price of the paper again. They don't want us to think the price of the paper is TOO high, though it already IS. TIME to buy the POST.
