Police Activity in Kingsville

I have only received 1 flyer so far and that one was the one regarding setting up the first meeting at the library before it happened. How many more were there that I didn't get? Also, I've seen people ask others on here to "PM" them. Is that a way of saying Private Mail? How do you do that thru here? Do you have to have their personal e-mail address? I think this should be used more often because airing people's names and addresses on here is not a good idea. You are not using your noggin' when you state your name and address and say you will be at a meeting at a certain day and time....ALONG WITH THE REST OF YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD ! It's just stupid, how do you think the real professionals work? The internet is a wonderful powerful tool, if we use it correctly, but it can also be an extremely destructive tool when people who use it don't think about it's potential and the damage it can cause. Sorry, not trying to sound paranoid, just cautious. People on here have done some mighty paranoid things such as calling the cops because a car is in a parking lot with out of state tags, or because a car went by their house in one direction and within a few minutes came back down the road in the other direction. Come on...it's a parking lot, cars are going to be there, and I can't tell you how many times I've left my house only to realize that I've forgotten something and had to turn and go right back. I can see the police officer's eye's rolling up into their heads when they got the calls for these! You post your name, your COMPLETE address and the "elaborate security system and what it entails" that you have. Come on, I can't believe that you think you're outsmarting anyone. Ummm, maybe showing off a little.....but not being very smart. Not to mention what it's probably already done to our property values....anyone who was interested in buying a house around here and had the smarts to google any of the streets mentioned, or the name of the neighborhood has probably already changed their mind real quick...and they really know nothing, only what they've perceived thru here. We all know it's a great place to live, and that this is probably just a rash of incidents that may never happen again....but...just trying to show what perceptions can be gained thru something like this that are unrealistic....

there has only been one flyer distributed that was concerning the first meeting. I will be distributing the second flyer tomorrow that gives the details of the second meeting. If someone would like to help me print, fold and distribute 200+ flyers that would be great. You haven't missed any other flyers.

I was working on my own and doing what I thought was right, until Lwr stepped up to the plate and so graciously suggested to help.
Lwr… I am really upset about the post before yours....I really think everyone has been trying to find a way to resolve these issues...this was an issue that extended beyond one house...it hit as many as ten. The police have been monitoring this forum and to date, never suggested that we have posted anything out of line...so I wonder , if we were doing something so wrong or being so concerned one of the officers did not contact us or intervene…, and if this was simply paranoia, why did L. Jesse Banes come to our first meeting? I just hope that we can pull together and get the NW watch going....I am very encouraged as I drive through our neighborhood and see folks posting the signs NW Watch! Robberies can happen in the best of neighborhoods….I would rather be honest about it and concerned than to live a lie. We learn by our mistakes..the biggest one would not be sharing the information with one another.

I plan on attending the meeting. The house in my development is still crawling with cars in and out, in and out all day. Teens to early 20's mainly. None of them are the actual owners or "live" there, though they spend the night most of the time. I am tired of feeling like I live in the city. I live here for a reason so I dont have to deal with the drugs and trash of the city!! but now its seems to be right down the road.

Early on I entered a comment commending Ms J for taking the time to alert the residents of Pleasant Hills on the recent robberies. I have been reading the comments and discussing the situation with my spouse. I want to bring an incident that happened about two weeks ago during the day to everyone's attention - it could be an honest inquiry and then again, perhaps it was a ruse to see if anyone was at home. My spouse is retired and shortly after Noon, there was a knock at our family room door and when he answered it, there was a white man in his early to mid 30's who inquired if we would like to have the dead tree in our back yard cut down. This tree was not on our property, but actually belonged to our neighbor whose property backs up to ours. My husband said it was not ours, but our neighbors. The man left and unfortunately, my husband did not associate the possibility of a ruse until very recently and never took note of where the man went, the vehicle he was driving or anything else. I am putting this out here and it would be interesting to see if anyone else had this happen to them or was it just an honest inquiry by someone looking for business.

I have expirenced similar inqueries, such as tree trimming, lawn care, driveway coating. Always felt they were just business offers and still think so. I hate to think what is going to happen when the young Morman Missionaries come on their annual visits.

I don't know if this is related but a SWAT team went into a house in the 7800 block of Bradshaw Rd in Kingsville and took lots of bags out of the house. Anybody know what this is about? Burglary? Drugs?

Maybe if the residents of the areas you listed took as much interest in their neighborhoods, as the residents here do, they would not have the crime problems they do.

I wrote about my home on Bradshaw Rd.being burglarized back in April. I have not heard anything back from Balto. Co. police. Is there any recent update on suspects or legitimate leads? What a feeling of violation! My husband and I were depressed for weeks! We didn't make it to the meeting but we would be interested in knowing if the police addressed the burglaries and has there been any recent activity?

This past week I saw a blk cat with a white neck and paws, crossing in front of the house for sale on Rohe! I will keep my eyes open for you and if I see him/her again let you know! It was about 2:30pm on Wed or Thurs...could that be yours?
