Can anyone explain why we voted 76% to ANNEX the intermodel, which costs several thousands of dollars to have the vote, and the new council can just vote it down. Makes absolutly no sense. It is clear the city administrator continues to get his way by threating and bulling people. Until we get a new administator the council and the mayor will only be "fed"information that the city administrator will allow. This so unfair to all the citizens of Gardner. I think maybe a call to the televisions stations to get this out is in order.

Hey you live in Johnson county, what do you expect. It's run by inbred, morons, with only their wallets in mind. One of the reasons we moved out of johnson county. Recall the admin. and the mayor and the city council, be a citizen stand up to there decisions. If they make a bad one call them on it, it's what our forefathers did.

"good to me" -- in their defense, the mayor and one of the city council members are looking forward and trying to do what's right and what's needed. It's the three stooges that are trying to keep this town in the dark ages. For some reason, they fail to realize that the intermodal WILL come, regardless. All they are doing is saying "no" to the millions of tax dollars that would come with it. Now, Gardner will face all the same issues (roads, traffic, demands on the infrastructure and school district) without the corporate tax dollars to help out.
That short-sighted, backwards thinking will be the end of this town.

Sorry about including the mayor and city council. Gardner already has a traffic and "police" problem. Getting around on friday or other weekend nights is nearly impossible, part of the reason we don't go to gardner on the weekends. Like Olathe they don't know how to get ahead of the curve, they can't plan ahead, period, sad but true, good luck with all this if JO. CO. has it's way it will be a Chinese firedrill

It is really silly what is going on. I agree 100%. Many people have moved to Gardner in recent years partly because of the high value people were getting for their real-estate dollars and partly because of Gardner's potential. The sad part is that many of the residents who were in Gardner before this influx of poeple were perfectly content with their sleepy town. Perfectly content with having 1 place to eat, 1 pharmacy, 1 grocery store, and 1 street! If I had known that Gardner's old guard was so staunchly opposed to growth and progress, I would not have moved to Gardner. I would have left the town alone and found somewhere else to live. I hope things change, otherwise I will be forced to leave. Is this what they want? A town of empty homes, deflated home values, high taxes, and nobody under the age of 40? Wow, sad to say, but true...
