How many people got cheap... I mean really cheap water bills this month.... look at your previous reading and your present reading... and then your usage... mine was 0 usage... how can that be for a family of 5?

i'd say the logical approach would be, if you're able that is, go read your meter. dang.

bknw has put new meters in and they don't have to get out to read them now...you must not be too worried about it or you would have checked your meter to see if the reading was correct. If it is then they must be reading it some way!

Our bill for a family of 3 is usually around $60. This seems really high. How does it compare to others around here? I really hope I don't have a leak under ground somewhere.

We have a family of 6 and would love 60 bucks! Ours was 189 last month! Maybe it is the inground pool?? when we lived in Searcy it was a basic rate of 30 a month...

And her reason for it being off, was they had something like tall grass, animals (which I have neither) that might have kept them from checking it and in that case they did estimate.. Yea I know what was keeping them from reading them.its called LAZY!!

Yep you are right. They do estimate. One month my bill might b nearly $40 and the next it will be the minimum $27 and some change. It will show no gallons used. I called and they said I didnt use over 1000 gallons. And I had washed my car couple times and been watering my trees!!

Re original post; The bk water office says that one of their computers went haywire and didn't charge some customers for water usage. They didn't discover the problem until after the bills were mailed. That computer is out for repair. If your bill shows no water usage, contact the water office to pay the correct amount or you'll be charged the extra on next month's bill.

BKNW man is LAZY! I caught him for almost 6 months not reading my meter.... I read it in the day he was suppose to and it was always off from what he wrote down...after complaining and going to a council meeting and busting him out on it then it fixed the situation for a while. And they had overcharged me enough that I had 2 free months of water service!

for a family of 5 we pay at least $65. That's 5 showers a day plus dishes and laundry to go with. Yours seems a little high...

To see if you have a leak turn all the water off in your house. Go outside and there is a little dial inside your water meter that will turn if the water is running. It will show if you have a leak. Check your toilet a lot of people are not aware that their toilet leaking and it will run your water bill up quick.

Then I must be paying part of your bill. I live alone and only do maybe 3 loads of laundry a week, run the dishwasher once a week and shower. And my bill is always about $40!
