The majority?
So then from what I have encountered myself in hospitals and nurses, the majority rules, so then ALL nurses, are, well, dumber than a doornail?
Your lumping people into a category just because you have had a certain experience, and that is wrong. That right there, my dear, is ignorance at the loudest.
Ignorance breeds hate, hate breeds..well, you figure it out. For someone that is college educated and smart, in some things, you are no different then many others that have climbed that social status wall,...you traded your common sense for a degree.
While I will agree there are some people that are questionable, it is no different in any field of work. You have your good ones, and you have your bad ones.
If you need further proof, look at our President, or heaven forbid, your not one of those that think he is the United States gift? Should we state, in your mind that everyone in our government is smart? or dumber than a doornail, based on a few people?
You have put shutters on your eyes, and lady, one day, by being blind, you will fail to see something, or someone important, just because you carry preconceived notions.

Blah Blah Blah. It's rather obvious that you have been offended. That must mean you fit that "majority" that I speak of. You're reaching at straws with the hospital bit adn you know it. Let's face it, ALL nurses have a college education. MOST walmart associates do not. Period. Take your shoe and shoo. |

1 Oh, for the record, Bush is a dolt. It's time for a revolution!!! |

You, my dear, have your eyes shut closed to the truth, either that, or I offended you?
Just because one has a college education and a degree does not make a person smarter. If you believe that it does, then you are simply a fool. And dear, the KEYWORD that you yourself used, was "Most"..maybe not all of them do have a college education, but amazingly, a few do, or is attending a collage. You still are lumping all the employees together, and THAT is wrong. It is not only displaying ignorance on your part, but prejudice also. That Blah, Blah, Blah comment is showing a childish side...so exactly HOW old are you and just what collage did you attend that taught you that esteemed word? |

1 I've attended a couple. Going back again in the spring. Have you considered the possibility that I'm just a bitch? You let your buttons be pushed too easily. That's bad for the soul!! Seriously though, have a good day! It's gorgeous here and I can't wait to get home! (Still won't shop wal-mart though) lol. |

1 Will be 34 in Feb and have a 15 year old daughter. Text communication sucks. You can't see body language or hear inflection in voice. You'd like me if you knew me. I'm anti-bush, anti-religion, anti-walmart. I am personally pro-life, politically pro-choice. I oppose the death penalty. I feed the homeless. My daughter goes to church even though I am an atheist. I'm bithy for the fun of it. I have no tolerance for stupidity, it's my flaw. I dream of world peace. I believe in reincarnation. What else ya wanna know? Because you seem to have judged my whole demeanor on a few posts. That my friend, shows the ignorance and foolishness you label me with. |
I'm sure anyone that makes "billions" of dollars a year isn't shopping at WalMart. People need to live within their means. |

If you don't like the employees then don't shop there. Or use self checkout.

I heard about this site that still does layaway. It works just like a traditional in store layaway called eLayaway.com . It has various merchants for just about any need and becoming a member is free.

I have noticed on here that some people have an issue with people that are upset because they can not put things such as toys, ect. on layaway for Christmas! Well its not just toys that people put on layaway and the only occasion is not Christmas!
And the reason WHY people choose to put things on to layaway INSTEAD of just saving up the money is because NOTHING lasts forever! Somethings are only in stores for a short period of time and if you find something you like and decide to save up for it then by the time you have enough finely saved up it maybe gone, like clothing! WalMart has great prices and yes some of their stuff is worth a crap, but they're getting better! I honestly think that if you don't shop at WalMart or if before they took away the layaway, you didn't use it; then you have NO business posting on this site!!! I think they made a huge mistake in taking it away and they need to bring it back! And I am honestly hoping that after this first year of not having it, when they go to add up the sales #s that they see they have lost out on money they could have made through layaway and they decide it was better to have it than to not and they bring it BACK! Oh and FYI they don't rent any space to hold their layaways!!! And those couple of people that worked back there aren't getting paid any less while now working in another department of the store then what they were while they were working the same amount of hours in layaway!!! |

anyone who has seen some of the inner workings at wal mart could write a book about whats wrong with this company. they are not as cheap as they used to be. their are other places i would much rather give my money to. i worked for the company in fredericksburg tx. and almost fainted at some of the things that went on. employees having sex in the parking lot, manager Robert Fox was often drunk or high on cocaine or other drugs . when employees reported him to Mitchell Wagoner they were fired or recieved horrible job assignments. fox often threw parties where drugs were used then they had to call in from being hung over. store manager Blakely who is at the fredericksburg tx store now has a habit of getting pregnant by her over-night workers. she went as far as trying to sexually harass one male when he rejected her advances she tried to go to his fiance to break up the wedding. all of this happened while she was on duty and in front of customers. this is all against the companies strict policy about management dating or partying subordinates. not to mention lost time and wages from employees missing work due to the party on attitude of some of the managent. if this company , which is supposed to have such high morals, cleaned out the trash maybe it could concentrate on lowering its prices and keeping lay-away and others services the store was known for when its founder sam walton was alive. he would be ashamed.

fed-up, nice to hear from other former wal-mart employees. i too, worked for them, however i left in 98, after 15 years and management. i agree with you, i too could write a book. if only the company still had the values that it did when sam walton was alive it would be a much better place than it is now. the day sam died was the day the power strugglles began, and they haven't stopped.

You can also shop online and choose the "Bill Me Later" option to pay. It's like a reverse lay-a-way. You can do the site to store option and not pay shipping too. Bill Me Later charges interest, but isn't a "credit card".

I recommend the Book- "high cost of Cheap living" ( I think it is called) by Barbera Fehrenbach- VERY good section on Wal MArt( about 1/2 the book)
I would say it would be interesting to look and compare the Number of Credit Card sales to Lay away- as it seems to me- Being in a "I want it NOW culture", Now -Many people put the Items on the Credit Card so they get it "Now" and Pay for it over time- which ends up being MANY times more expensive than if they had saved before buying it and spent cash. I would bet the correlation between the two statistics , compared with the Group of Shoppers that would normally use Law Away- do correspond accuratly to my assesment. |

bring it backkkkk!!!!

As a former layaway manager and Wal-Mart employee, I can not count the number of hours that I spent carrying a layaway upstairs knowing that in a few weeks I would be carrying the same thing back down because the person would not pick it up. It was the same people over and over who would do this. Many times it would be more than 5 large boxes. They would put in $500 or more knowing that they would not be able to pay it off in the 60 days allowed.
Also, all of that stuff was reordered for the shelves, and then when the layaway was cancelled we would have overstock. I can completely see why Wal-Mart did away with layaway. If people would not have abused it, and actually paid out what they put in, it would still be here today! |
