I'm sure it made a big impact on the streets but Meth has become such a big business that for every half pound the police are getting off the street a pound is coming in on another street. Until the County, State, and Government dicides to come together and makes it a world wide effort there will always be drugs on the street. They are so set on war problems that the drugs that come in from the same nations are being overlooked. A half a pound is little drop in the big bucket.

I SEE THINGS SO DIFFERENTLY. I DO NOT BELIEVE FOR ONE MOMENT THAT THIS WAS ANYTHING BUT A BUST IN ORDER TO SAY "HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME/US, WE ARE EARNING OUR MONEY AND GETTING DRUGS OFF THE STREET." THERE IS NO "WAR ON DRUGS" PERIOD...YOU KNOW AS WELL I DO THAT ALCOHOL/DRUGS ARE JOB SECURITY FOR THEM. IF IT WEREN'T FOR ALCOHOL/DRUGS ALL THE D.A.s, ALL THE LAWYERS, ALL THE JUDGES, ALL THE POLICE,ABOUT 1/3 OF ALL MEDICAL FACILITIES, PRISON SYSTEMS, TREATMENT CENTERS,PROBATION/PAROLE OFFICERS,AND YOUR N.E.T.C.A.D.A's OF THE WORLD WOULD BE LAID UP DRAWING UN-EMPLOYMENT. THERE WOULD BE NO FREE LABOR WHICH WOULD MAKE ALL THE RANGERS AT ALL OF THE STATE PARKS HAVE TO WORK....NOT TO MENTION ALL THE COUNTY FREE LABOR THAT GOES ON.....I.E. CAN YOU SEE THE AN ACTUAL POLICE OFFICER WASHING THEIR OWN CAR??????????I CAN'T. THE SHERFF "S DEPT. WOULD HAVE TO WORK ALSO BECAUSE THEIR WOULD BE NO SNTCHES TO DO THEIR FOOT WORK FOR THEM. THERE WILL NEVER BE A REAL WAR ON DRUGS'....

I think there is much more of a war on drugs than you can imagine, but the 'civil liberies' types, ie. your liberal democrats have worried about criminals rights to the point that it is almost impossible to get convitions on cases that should be slam dunk. When I served on a jury in Hopkins County we were only allowed to hear, maybe, half the actual testomy on a bust with undercover officers and an accomplice who pled out. The man was crossing county lines to sell drugs, and was doing it on the Wal-mart parking lot in Sulphur Springs. We convicted him, but he almost got off because there was so much information we weren't allowed to know until the sentencing phase.

I suppose you are right to a certain extent. I still feel that if they were seriously making an effort to fight drugs they would be on it with all fours, so to speak. The one and only tme that D.A.'s and Judges actually make a true showing s election year. When it's an election year, the D.A.'s runs the county jails and the judges for that matter. It's all a sad case of corruption.

In Hopkins County, alone, there are so many drug cases most are pled out. But of the 4 I got all to possibly serve on, 3 were drug cases. You can't imagine how many, of those cases, cross the DA's desk in a week. It is truly astonishing that nothing ever changes. We don't put people do death often enough in Texas. If we did, the prisons wouldn't be so over crowded and there would be more space for all the drug criminals. On that note, I wouldn't be apposed to a larger jail, here. The revenue for housing minor crime prisoners is unbelievable. We could afford to pay all our county employees with many more law enforcement officers were the county to choose that route. Most people are scared of it, but I would rather them be in a jail than on the street. In Bonham they have built all kinds of things as a result of letting the prison come in and the salaries for the state are really good.

If there was a clean sweep of EVERYONE who was doing drugs, selling drugs,or even possessing drugs, there would be some high and mighty people around Rains County that would be very ashamed of their kinfolks (and possibly of themselves).

A half a pound is little drop in the big bucket. freedomwriter,u just said it.U must know some things in big SS as well.Meth.Ice,Cheese,Crank,Coc aine is 1 of the biggest business's there are.Your neighbors your next dor neighbors and friends that your kids go to school with??Guess what? There parents are users of these drugs.Guess you would of never guessed that. Its' been proven it's going on and is happening. There is Big BUCKS in DRUGS.It's easy many. Some of the drogs all u need are a few ingredience a Sauce Pan and a Little stove and and a Screed to drain it and in 72 hrs you have a pond of dope to put on the street. All u need is 2 0r 3 good people that u trust and your in business. The school kids are Savy to all these drugs and do there share. You would be so surprised to know how many actually are doing this now.On Thurs-Sunday,thats the day the money is made.Mon-Wed the chemical is being processed and getting ready to hit the streets. From someone that knows the game all to well. It's happening and will continue. There is to much money & habit to stop it.Like I said,Iam a Old timer and been there and done that.So posting peoples names can be dangerous to your health.Well said.Kitty

He's still on Wal-Mart Parking Lot selling Drugs. He's Lewis Tatums a HCSD Investigators #1` SNITCH,and his last name also counts in this one too.Lewis Tatum is Embarrassing to Hopkins Co.He looks like a Sumo Wrestler and dresses Like he has No detergent to wash his clothes. Now Toney Hurley Cheif Investigator of the Hopkins Co SO could sure teach ole Lewis a thing or two about being Clean,Dressing,Ethic's.Toney Hurley is one Good Law man.And what a Sweet Family man.Toney is GOOD at what he does.If he gives you his word-It's good.He don't tell lies or Cheat people like Lewis Tatum does.He don't even belong in the same category as Toney Hurley and surely Butch Knows this? Why he lets this goes on is a mistery.Lewis Makes threats & arrests the wrong people for having the same name/as someone else, and the person telling him.it's not me.I can prove it.But they Shackle a 64 yr old woman's feet and hands and then find out, they have the wrong lady. She tried to tell them, they told her "Quote"-Shut your Mouth"I know this for a fact..When he arrested the 64 yr old woman that is disabled and partial blind. They did release her,but still she had to be took to the emergency room for heart issues.u know what happened?NOTHING/Not even a Iam Sorry .But it's ok for his kid to get caught selling drugs. He is a married man and tried to get a girl he knows to set him up with her sister? The sister said no.He's nasty and he's married.Thats what we have to represent our HCSO Investigators dept.So yes Butch needs to replace that one there. He's just dirty looking and wears dirty clothes.Butch dresses nice and clean so do the others at the SO.just that 1 they have that is a disgrace to HOPKINS CO.Theres so much more I could say about that man.But I will stop. He's a Dirty COP./

The only way to rid the country of drugs is to take some of our civil librities away. If your caught with drugs...You get your hand cut off. 2nd offense...Youget your foot cut off 3rd off ense your hanged at the twon square. Oh wait there's that darn 8th amendment that states "No cruel and unusual punishments". Of course we could make thiefs and other criminals where huge card board signs that read..."My name is... and I am a criminal. I did...(insert crime)..."and make them parade around the square with it, but you know why we can't do that. Because of the same reason wood co. doesn't do it anymore. Stupid crook tripped over the sign and sued the county. "MORON IF YOU DIDNT COMMIT THE CRIME IN THE FIRST PLACE YOUR CLUMSY A$$ WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN HURT STUPID." And no, drugs, not even your simple "harmless" marijuana will ever be legal because drugs can be made too easily and the government would never get thier share of the profits.
