I think I understand what he is saying although god knows why he wanted to meet a father he never knew and embrace him just muddles me up. It must have taken some guts because it has put him in the limelight but maybe he needed to see him to put his mind at rest. I honestly don't know but if my Dad had done things like that I would never have gone near him in a million years

He needed to see where he came from, so he could hopefully do better and not destroy the lives of others. Had he allowed his father to die without contacting him, seeing him for who he truly was, this young man might have spent his life destroying himself and others just as his father had. Instead, he has been given the gift of truth, now he can become the person, the man, that his father was too coward to become. Or, he can become his father all over again, the choice it his. Pray for this young man.

I guess my question is, why, did he give an interview and bring attention to himself

Before this interview, no one knew or cared who he was.

The dead guy wasn't his father, just the due who knocked up his mom

Islandude I totally agree with but I also agree with some of what Alpha and Omega say. I hope that he doesn't regret making his visit public although in my heart I think he will. One thing I do know is I wouldn't have given him a hug knowing what he did because I wouldn't have wanted to give this monster any comfort but heh what the hell do I know having never been in that situation

It was great for this young man to meet his father before death. Nothing afterwards will mean anything to him or anyone else. Sinclaircats is just a hater and perhaps no one ever loved him. The bible says respect your parents all will go well for you. This young man did not judge his father, his peers did and we should all be proud of him, his mother and her boyfriend for showing love to someone who was unable to show the same.

I had to giggle at you calling me a hater Sylvia. Nothing could be further from the truth. I love my fellow man and my concern was for the son becoming a figure of abuse for anyone who believes his fathers genes could be passed down to him. My dad was the most wonderful dad in the world but if he had done these things I honestly don't think I could have given him any comfort at his last moments because of the victims. I am not saying I am right to think that way I am just saying that's how I THINK I would feel

I understand this young man, and what he said lets me know that he might have been his dad, but not his father, He can go on now and make a life for himself and show the world that we can be what ever we want to be, and not do the things our parents do. We can stand on our own, as person to ourselves.
