I am not too concerned about his big salary, but I am concerned about his not being worth a damn at what he is supposed to do. I thought when he came here the whole United States Military would want to come and build offices, depots, and training sites just to be near the great Tommy Lee Patton. He "puffed" up his resume like he had been given the laurel of some ancient warrior returning from the conquest of the Macedonians.
I have to declare, "Mr.Bramlett, where are you when we need you?" Patton must have perfected the art of "Brown Nosing" in the Corps because he has not lost his touch...aint't that right Carl?

You think that Pattons resume was a little much or A little over the top??Not puffed up. A plan out joke. After looking at it on BainbridgeGa.com he made it look like he ran the United States Military single handed. The only thing he is good at is kissing Perrys ass.And he is good at that.Maybe he can tell us how long it took the corp to teach him the art of ass kissing.

if the county was to pay him for what he does it would come out to about .75 cents and hour and that would be pushing it.

Don't know what planet I've been on, but I sure didn't know about the SUV.
Why does he need an SUV?

The SUV is a necessary piece of equipment for the modern County Administrator. That way when some irrate citizen comes to his office to make him give an answer for some weird act of the commission, he can dive in it and haul ass out of town back to his homemade bunker.

Col. Tom Patton there or alot of good hard working men and women that work for Decatur Co.But I want you to be ready to give the people of Decatur Co.and expansion for why you let Billy Leverett retire and then hire him as A contractor. At A cost to the county of $7200.00 dollars a month. That Tom comes to $86400.00 dollars ayear plus A county paid cell phone.Do you pay for all contractors that work for the county A cell phone?Did you post this job or contract? And did you bid it out?And if not why?Or is it Billy Leverett is your buddy?I do not think that it is funny at all or right that at all for us to pay Leverett this kind of money for him to ride around and brag about his 3 to 4 week hurting trips. So Tom who is looking after his job when he is off hunting for 4 weeks and the county paying him?And if he can be gone that long at A time WHY do we need him? This could be the countys first budget cut. Then Tom you could tell us how much money you and Rowland have us.Because you have told us time after time how much money you and Rowland have saved us.MILLIONS.So Tom show us the money.Show us the money.

Well boys we got to cut the budget and raise the taxes. But the county has plenty of money to make new positions so we can buy more vehicles for these positions and pay cell phones for those that never return a call or answer their phones. I cant say it is all county employees because the ones that are truly doing their jobs and most of their superiors jobs that we pay such salaries too these few employees are under paid and still not getting a cost of living raise why because we need SUVs and Billy Leveretts and Tom Pattons and Paul Soudis that are useless as tits on a boar hog. They want leave town they have been run out or fired from most of the last places they come from. Far as Perry he is like the rest been there to long he constantly quotes when he went in office he went in to find out where the money was going and being spent he found out . but now he has all his good buddies brought in from out of town to help him spend it and they all line their pockets.

Maybe it is time for all the big salaries to take cuts and/or eliminate the jobs that are unnecessary, combine some jobs like the administrator/finance director, let the HR duties go back to the ones who used to do it before Patton hired the high paid human resources person and get rid of other high paying jobs like Curious Farmer says.
And if the commissioners still need more money, try raising the sales tax instead of the millage rate. Land owners aren't the only ones using county services so make everybody contribute through a tax on all goods and services.
Someone also needs to take a look at how much money the attorney is making off the county. Maybe consider selling the landfill, too, to a national waste professional and let them bear the cost of equipment and maintenance of the landfill. We all have to pay for garbage pick up anyway, it isn't free anywhere.
Someone also needs to tell the school board and city that higher taxes will not be tolerated from them any more. It is not just the county raising taxes recently. Why did we need a multimillion dollar high school stuck out in the middle of nowhere? People here just tolerate too much, give too much power to the handful of people who are running things, and we wonder why we are suffering?
And if the Development Authority can only drum up a prison and a Dollar General for our industrial parks in two or three years time, maybe it is also time for a change over there. If there are no jobs, people are going to keep leaving, and then who will be left to pay all of these taxes and support a top-heavy governments? We are becoming the foreclosure capital of south georgia because people cannot even afford to pay for their houses.
Better wake up, Bainbridge and Decatur County, before it is too late.

So the county administrator has no job description and therefore can not be held accountable for not doing his job? How was the job posted before he got it with no job description? You can not make up stuff this stupid. One can only assume that the GOB's (good ole boys)feel they have no constituency to answer to or they feel everyone is too stupid to do anything about it. If anyone is reelected in November they will be right.

He does have a job description, that is a crock if anyone says different. Ask the woman of the year to produce it unless it has been flushed.

First i am going to address Tom Pattons Salary. If Decatur county pays Tom Patton $1.00 Per week his salary would be inflated.

Now i would like to address Comm. Perry tenure as county comm. When Perry was elected our county adm. made around $50,000.00 per year. The adm. performed the duties of county adm, finance officer and H R director. Decatur County had approximately $17,000,000.00 in the bank without almost no debt liability. Now Decatur County is broke snd just about everything the county buys is on Credit. Now on the plus side we have Patton, Rowland, Mayfield and Soudi, whom atleast three out of the four were fired from there previous positions. This seems to a must to obtain a high ranking position with Decatur County. Now the next plus is the new land fill which is eating up money faster than we can be taxed. Should Tom, Carl and the commissioners doubt this, just read the last audit report prepared by Decatur County Auditor.

Now i wish we had one commissioner that has BALLS enough to stand with commissioner Mosely and sellers. Maybe then we could get stsrted in the right direction.

I overheard a group of ladied Monday talking about how messy the county commission administration is. They brought up that the plot is for the Commission is going to terminate Patton and Majorie Mayfield is in line to take his place. Thay might explain why she spends so much time taking up for him...she is tearing pages out of his game plan so she can use them herself. She tells it that Patton would have surrendered long ago, but he didn't have her in the right "position" at the time.
As far as looking for one commissioner bearing BALLS, good luck, they have surrendered them to Patton and are awaiting for him to return them.

amazing how other counties can get economic rewards for good management of resources and doing what is right we can't and will probably never get crapola in this community unitl we get the right leadership in the right places:

http://www.sowegalive.com/news/2012/2/17/tenn...
http://www.sowegalive.com/news/2012/2/17/cate...
http://www.sowegalive.com/news/2012/2/17/jack...

we got that wonderful traco building that nobody really knows how much of our taxdollars footed the bill for sitting empty and an industrial park that most tenants have vacated. Who is responsible for trying to get indusstry here? apparently they aren't in the loop or don't care whether we get a company here to employ the people needing jobs. We got a real unemployment rate of somewhere near 14% and have had for the past several years and a worn out county sewer plant with supposedly no money to fix and an out of control government who doesn't want the truth to be told and who could care less about the working man. We need leadership here.
