I looked at the GARTL website, they explained they will always endorse known prolife incumbents over unknown prolife candidates.
His comments on his blog do raise questions and I agree he should clarify them and also debate.
You are incorrect or either attempting to sow disinformation. Before the run off, every Republican had the GaRTL endorsement EXCEPT Burke. Mike Keown was the only one who had state level political experience then. I explained to you why GaRTL told me that they refused to endorse him. I told you to call yourself, but you keep repeating this canard about incumbency when you must know by now that it is false.

Don't question my motives. I'm not being obtuse or sowing disinformation. I didn't look on GARTL's website until after the election so I have no idea who they endorsed. I voted for the libertarian first. He lost, now I have to vote for one of the two I didn't vote for.
I mentioned incumbency once and did not repeat myself. I also clearly said what I stated was what I thought, not what someone else told me.
God forbid I make an educated decision and not just rely on rumors posted on here. I'm leaning towards Burke but if I find some definite proof that he's not pro-life, and I mean life at conception, then I will vote for Keown.

Im Republican for the most part ... But I am pro choice!! So what if Burke is or isnt? If I got raped and turned up pregnant, better believe Id terminate the pregnacy! If at 45 I found out my husband and I were pregnant, then through tests found out there were severe abnormalities to the fetus, I'd terminate it! And I'd want a REAL doctor to assist ... My choice! Women should have a choice. If I were young and single and found myself pregnant in a small town with a job where people would raise their eyebrows... I'd like to have the option of terminating the pregnancy early, if i chose to!
That ONE topic is ridiculous for all this drama over a candidate.... There are MANY other concerns for our area.
... Go ahead, damn me to hell... But there are real and legitimate reasons a woman should have the right to choose, and have a medical doctor to assist, rather than the horrid alternative from the past.
Now, what other reasons should or shouldnt one vote for Dr. Burke? What other reasons should or shouldn't one vote for Keown?

Ok...reasons not to vote for Burke....he is being backed by the very politicians who brought you T-SPLOST and Atlanta based charter school commission. These people have been scrapping away at local control for years. They want all the power in Atlanta. How do you think Burke will vote? Are you happy with our state government? He also has playing everybody by portraying himself as an outsider or a political newbie. Not true. He has been a city councilman for several years, a member of several state boards and authorities, and ran for this same seat in 1998.

Reasons to vote for Keown.....nobody went against the majority more than Keown during his time in Atlanta. Check his voting record. Ask yourself why Atlanta wants him defeated so badly? With Keown it isn't about himself. He puts constituents first regardless of the consequences in Atlanta.

Need more reasons?

Georgia right to life never endorses state level senators. Stop reading the newspaper and do your own research

What a stupid comment. They definitely do. I have done my own research and have found their endoresement of Keown.

People who support abortion just show why the people of this country can turn and murder their family members and neighbors, no respect for life. I have been in the position of a young pregnant woman and the thought of abortion NEVER crossed my mind. People say that a woman has a right to her own body but that life growing inside of her is NOT HER body...LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION! That is not a clump of cells you dumb broad it is a baby, a thriving life inside the womb in which it grows...There is NO excuse for the murder of the innocent...Nothing but sad selfish sob stories from those with NO respect for another human life!

They sure do. Why don't you call them. The number is above. Instead of being a lying sack of political shit. Keown is not an incumbent. Buy a dictionary you simpleton.

I don't like Burke's position (or lack thereof) on abortion but I have to vote for him because Keown is a Baptist. Burke is just the lesser of two evils.

Not only is he a Baptist Preacher (LOL!), but he's also been on the government dole for nearly 3 decades. Jailhouse preacher my butt! Our tax dollars at work is more like it.

Not a jail house preacher, but a Deputy Warden at Valdosta State Prison. Still a preacher, but that is not what he was doing at the GDOC. Working for the government is not dole, if you are actually working. I'd trust a preacher more than I would a man who spends half his day with his hands in some strange woman's vagina that is not his wife. Looking at his picture, I wouldn't let him anywhere near mine with that weird, creepy grin.

You guys are wrong. Dean Burke does not perform abortions. The GARTL only "endorses" incumbents or previous state office holders like McKeon. Burke has vowed to uphold their pledge.

Then why did they endorse Jeff Bivins and Brad Hughes as well?

http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/rende...

Read the GRTL press release. Burke didn't sign their pledge and didn't even meet with them about an endorsement.
