Someone stole a brand new Toshiba laptop tonight from a apartment on the corner of Cypress and Woodgate behind Kmart does anyone have any information about this? The police appear to have finger prints and the owners of the laptop will be pressing charges... The thief appears to have went through the front door also....

check and see if there is a rat (remote administration tool) that you could possibly ssh into? if anything like that is installed then the owner will also have the required information for that as well. If that does not apply, then maybe there is the lo-jack? If that doesn't apply, then you're prolly screwed unless the perp is caught red handed, because if it ends up to someone like me, then all digital traces are wiped clean and lo-jacks removed! For a fee of course, but i normally don't ask questions of why people forgot 'their' password! lol

If the laptop is returned we will not press charges against the person who stole it.. if not we will press charges against you..... And you will be found...

Why would you not press charges after the item has already been stolen? The sounds like a fallacy from the git-go. Another thing, if you know 'who' has done it, then proceed with the pressing of charges, it's futile to attempt any intimidation factor through topix. It just clearly shows that you have nothing really. Ask the owner my suggestions, if not, then by the time it gets to someone like me, you'll have zero chance. Believe what you want. And when ya identify someone, by saying 'you' ya makin it sound like 'me' as in the person typing this. Don't assume!

Btw, if you don't have some sort of remote access into the computer for when it possibly is connected to the internet, then there is no way they are going to subpoena 'suspected individuals' their internet/cellular records for your convenience. Doesn't work like that, so I'd advise trying to remember certain software's or possible hardware configurations on this laptop to see if you can salvage a rescue mission for it. Just saying.. Time's running out..

spoken like a true thief. I if you know where it is at least try to be a bigger person than the lowlife who stole it and give this person property back.

I m not the thief but i live around a lot of them and they brag about it in my presence. I never buy anything off them even though they have the nicest stuff for cheap. I have been wanting an ipad for over a year and i ran across several yet i refuse to buy it stolen for $100.
You dont have to believe me, but i know i m right. And btw, u can forget getting any info fron me, bc $20 reward and fake promises will not get me to move a finger for you. Well maybe the middle on but thats about it

Look. If you think I would offer a $20 reward on something that is this important that is a joke. I'm not wasting anyone's time. As previous post state it had information we need off of it.... I'm not a crook..... I'm just trying to get my kids lap top back... And pay a reward to someone to help me get it back.. that is all...

unless you are the punkass thief who grabbed it, what does it matter the ammount of the reward? Its pieces of trash like you that ruin this country. Asking the ammount of the reward makes you just as much of a prick as the lazy-ass who stole it.

I'm from two large and by the way honest families from this community. I have never in my life had to beg for anything. I have worked for everything I have had since I was a teenager. I have never stole anything in my life. But to have to beg for something that was just bought for my kids birthday less then three weeks ago.. the important information consist of my kids school information... It is just sad but I will pay a reward no questions ask, no law included... Again. It is a Toshiba lap top. It was stole three nights ago at a apartment on Cypress and Woodgate Trails... behind Kmart .....
