This place is horrible! After happy hour the margaritas are $11.00 for maybe a 5 oz glass. The service is terrible, the portions are over priced and small, and the food is not that good and the management lacks customer service skills. I hope this place goes out of business soon so a real Mexican Kitchen will come to College Park.

I think that location is cursed. Too bad, CP needs a good Mexican eatery. Until then, I'm going to Pacos (on Fairbanks)where the service is great and the food is ok.

I enjoyed the food but the sneaky (unmentioned by the server) $2 tortilla fee irritated me and the price was pretty high for a small Sunday lunch at a place that feels like Chi-Chis. Maybe they will get their act together but for now I have better options for spending my money.

I live in College Park and only recently had the pleasure of eating at Paxia. I was pleasantly surprised with everything. The waitress knew everything I could think to ask, and having food allergies that really pleased me. She advised me on every little thing, taking time to explain in detail the different foods and what was in them. She even went to the back to make sure on something that stumped her. The chips were wonderful and the appetizer was the only the beginning of my wonderful meal. The burritos were flavorful, and the guac was a surprise. I usually don't like guac but I couldn't get enough of theirs. The margarita deliciously complemented the meal and wasn't too strong or too weak. They've obviously solved the service issue before my first experience, either that or a food critic is being too critical.

We've been going there since it opened and have found the service to be fast, friendly, and efficient. Perhaps, Heather has expectations of being handled as a celebrity. The regular clientele seem to be happy with the food and service.

It looks like there's a trend here towards better comments.. I'd like to echo the comments made by Jerry and Erik. I never went to Paxia before this past May, but I've gone several times since.. and I can find very little to complain about. The portions are perfect, the food is flavorful, and the servers are warm and friendly. They also make some excellent margaritas in my opinion.
I'd definitely recommend paxia to anyone who hasn't tried.. it's definitely worth a look. |
