I own a beach house on Miramar beach and I am very worried about it. The news channels have not shown anything about the West End yet. If I see anything I'll let you know. Please do so also if you can. Thanks.

Based on latest info I just heard from people in Galveston, the West End was not hit as hard as the East End. The garage level of the houses seems to have been trashed.

i found a web site tonight to see a very dear friends beach by Jamaica beach. it sits behind the long row of blue condos by the seven seas store.
this is an updated satilite view of the island. I found our house good luck!

Just check out this link and maybe you can find a picture of your home. This link is from the NOAA and is a satellite image of Jamaica Beach. Unfortunately the images seem to track along the gulf side and not the bay side. But I am hopeful that the homes on the bay side are not damaged as these homes on the gulf side appear to be ok.

Was in Bacliff yesterday--It did very well with mostly tree limbs and power off--a lot of San Leon was destroyed--water got deeper as you got past the old Bloom fig farm--Eagle point destroyed and much near it--you can go in if you live there

I'm trying to find out information about my niece's dad. He lives in Bacliff on 7th, right on the water. Does anyone know how that area fared? I've not been able to contact him and they won't let me in the area. I spoke with him on Friday and he was gonna 'ride it out baby'. Foolish yes, but my niece is only 13 and she's quite worried.

Robyn my house is on 10th and only limbs were broken --NO SURGE DAMAGE--you can go to Bacliff if you drive--it is completely safe on roads--phones don't work too well--right on the water was damaged but 7th is far off the water--7th in San Leon may be a different story

People who live on Galveston Island can go in only during the day with identification but must leave at night but you may not be able to get to your home depending on where it is--Texas City and LaMarque mostly did very well but Kemah, Clear Lake Shores and Seabrook got a lot of damage--lights are on in spotty areas and I ate in a restraunt in Dickinson on the freeway but most stores were closed--a gas station was open in BACLIFF ON 146&646 and one in Dickinson on the freeway

I'm hoping my sister is right then and he is in Bacliff. You take 646 to Cliftons by the Sea, go right, and then it's just past the 4-way stop? My understanding is that is Bacliff.
