It's not about the house with lights. It's about the tradition of going there, the hundreds of stuffed animals he hands out to all of the children that visit and all of the money he donates the children's hospital without ever asking for a dime other than a possible donation for the hospital. I doubt he contacted Newsday, chances are one of the thousands of people that appreciate his efforts did.

It is you. He's not a truck driver, he owns his own contracting business.

I suggest stimulus checks to those in need (ONLY those in need) around the holidays-instead of a LIPA BAILOUT !

The Spadafora family does such a beautiful job for over 20 years. They have spent thousands of dollars & made Christmas special for so many people. The presents that they hand out & the $$$$ they donate to Schneiders Childrens Hospital comes from the heart. Not to mention the time (months) they spend preparing this, but also working it on the holiday while the rest of us are spending time with family enjoying.

He should setup a web cam and then charge like $1 for unlimited viewing privileges. People from all over the world would pay the $1 knowing some of the money is going to charity, they'll visit the site once for about 1 minute, and then never come back. He'll make million$.

Clark Griswold has nothing on this guy. But seriously, all the money he spent could've made a nice additional donation, and the neighborhood wouldn't look so tacky.

I may get it if it was November, but July? Who of those thousAnds of people happened to guess he was not decorating?? It is very nice that he donates the contributions however he is not the only house on the island to do so. From the story it appears he is looking for a benefactor

Some people are so cold hearted and just don't give a damn and I say screw you.The Spadafora should be proud of what they have done and I hope it doesn't come to an end.

I don't care who you are, this is a damn shame. I bet I saw this house when I was a youngster. Hopefully something can be done to help save one of LI's mini-traditions.

I'm sure his neighbors will be relieved- can you imagine ahving to live with that kind of noise and disruption for 4 months a year. There are other ways to raise money for charity.

The timing of the story does suggest that a bailout is the reason for this story to come out now. He probably begins his over the top display in 4-6 weeks and hopes this 'advertisement' generates a benefactor(s). My wife has a co-worker who lives halfway down the block from this house and she's glad that the end has come to this yearly 'horror'.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Virgo

Enjoy today's lively atmosphere. It's great for throwing yourself into social settings and mixing with as many people as possible. You'll feel no hint of shyness or nerves, even if you're facing a room full of strangers. If things have been tricky with a near neighbor or close relative recently, this is a good day to sort things out even if you have to be quite tough in the process.
