This is my first time coming across this article and it breaks my heart to see how ignorant people are, but I would never allow these comments to get to me because I knew what type of man my father was. My name is Shanae Shaw and I am the oldest daughter of Monroe Shaw Jr. I don't know how I managed to make it this far without him in this world but I keep pushing to live my life cause he enjoyed and lived his. November 4, 2009 marks the 2nd anniversary of his death and also my 22nd birthday. I waited for him to call me on my 20th birthday, the day he died, but never received it. Almost two years and it still feels like it happened yesterday. I love you daddy and will forever miss you. Watch over me and your two little girls, Khaliya Shaw and Quiana Stowe. R.I.P. Daddy, love Nae Nae

OK cuz, we know you're busy with the funeral and all, but just how DO you find the time to post responses on the Newsday message boards? Oh, when you get a minute, check out an English book and look up, oh, I don't know, things like spelling, sentence structure and punctuation. Good luck.
its funny how you find time to criticize someone on them shortening words to get to the point at there time of grief. This man was my father and he died on my 20th birthday. No birthday will ever be the same but I know he walks with me everyday. Thank God I did not see this article at the time when he passed because I would have had the rage to stoop down to you negative people level. All I want to do is just pray for you. Pray that you make it to hell where all your other demons are burning. R.I.P. Daddy. We know you fell asleep and continue to sleep you shall do. These 4 years was hell without you but I'm continuing to get threw it. As for your daughters, we're both doing fine. Khaliya is growing into a beautiful little girl, she's six now, and I've grown into a beautiful young lady

Slappy White is like so many others that were never hugged, loved or cared for as a child. He feels and like some other insensitive idiots that posted comments that when things happen to individuals it is their fault not knowing the exact facts. I am sure that he believes everything that he reads and sees on the news. Who cares what they think because like most posters said Monroe Shaw touched every person that knew him and that is ultimately what really matters.
I made a few errors and I am at work and have other things going on as I am typing really fast.
