Gee. Over 100 mph at just after 2:00am. I wonder if alcohol was involved? D'ya think so?

Sad to have this young woman die, and the pain it causes her family. Shame she brought it upon herself. Driving 100 miles/hour is usually fatal for your average driver. The only good thing to come from this death is as a warning to other drivers.

AZUSA - A woman died and another person was seriously injured early Thursday when a speeding car crashed on the eastbound 210 Freeway in Azusa, authorities said.
The collision occurred just after 2 a.m. when a white sedan crashed on the eastbound 210 just west of Azusa Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Lidia Kopach, 24, was killed, Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's office said. The car was doing more than 100 mph before it crashed and overturned, a witness told the CHP.

What a poorly written article! Nowhere does it state if the woman was in the car that crashed-was she the driver, a passenger or in another car??

Probably not, but I-210 isn't good enough for 100 mph. I only did 100+ in Arizona (don't try it now - they've got a budget crisis and a lot of cops and speed cams on I-10).

you can drive 100 mph safely at 2 since there's very few cars on the road, especially if your car has great handling and corners. I bet she was dui and lost control.

Great! That is about 2% of the cars on the road. You notice that she was in a SINGLE car accident.

Why yes, you do. What's the optimal speed? If we all drove at 0 mph, we wouldn't have any crashes. If we all drove at 100 mph, we'd have a lot more. 65 mph gets you around faster, but uses up considerably more gas and is a lot less safer than 55 mph.

Thank God she didn't kill some innocent person. Didn't learn her lesson the first time. Total irresponsible arrogance on her part. At least she won't have the opportunity to do it again.

Ah, the old 55 vs. 65 argument. Totally bogus. When we went off the nationally mandated 55 mph limit, people were happier, got around better and more expediently, and did not use "considerably more gas". And 55 is not a lot safer than 65. Get into the real world.

According to reports Lidia was racing home after drinking at a bar. She was not suppose to be drinking and driving because she's on probation for DUI. Good riddance Lidia you worthless drunk. Now you're no longer a treat to anyone.

Most race car driver can go 170mph without getting into a crash on a empthy course. Most driver can safetly drive at 100mph at 2am at night when there's only a few car on the road.

What kill wasn't speed, it was something else.
