NO, we are not controlled by Federal troops. Use of Federal troops in CONUS is addressed in the Constitution and BOR for a reason. You allow the 2A to be changed or abolished the rest will follow.

Oh dear. You have missed the point. Don't you see what these tireless fighters of freedom are doing? Why, they're sacrificing valuable hours of their time every single day to battle on a forum for their rights.......by name-calling, insulting, posting half-truths and cutting/pasting ad nauseam entire novels that they largely misinterpret.
You should thank these brave warrors for keeping us free.

I assume the answer to my question is no, our standing army is not controlling the rest of us-as you inferred- even though they have the weapons to do so-as I inferred.

Now I'll answer your question.

Of course it could and a chance that it will occur, armed or not.Very small chance in mine, yours and even our great grand children's life time.
Yellow Stone could erupt and a chance that it will occur, warned or not. Very small chance in mine, yours and even our great grand children's life time.

But no, I can't guarantee either event won't happen.

Now can you guarantee you and your fellow gun totters can keep our standing army in check?

Personally, I think our worrying is better put to use by worrying how we protect ourselves from the next nut job mass murder with his guns than either our standing army or Yellow Stone.

First of all, your assertion is just plain silly. Second of all, there is no push on to either change or abolish the 2nd.

Prudence would dictate that one would protect from as many known threats as possible.

Am I to believe that "prudence" is satisfied with an AR-whatever,a 100 rd drum and a case of ammo? Not much prudencing for coming up against the most powerful military force the world as ever seen.

I didn't "infer" anything. I stated a fact. Those who have weapons will rule those who do not. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!!!!!! Don't try to put words in my mouth. The standing army does not and cannot control us because we are armed. Which is the purpose of the right to bear arms. DUH! As to your worry, the best and fastest way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

So if you're a good guy with a .22 Single Six and I'm a bad guy with an M4, that means I can't control you under any circumstances because you are armed.

The best and fastest way for a bad guy with a gun to stop a good guy with a gun is for the bad guy to shoot the good guy first.Double duh!

Sorry about the error of my use of the word "infer" which means to draw a conclusion, as by reasoning. I promise never to accuse you of using reason again.

At this time there are roughly 2,000,000 members in the armed forces compared to 100,000,000 armed citizens so at 5 to 1 I would side with the 5. Plus with many of the armed forces deployed around the world fending off the likes of NK or Iran and ALL the armed citizens here the numbers would be more like 10 to 1. In the event the 10 lost it would still devastate the 1 leaving the borders and bases around the world unmanned. Your 2,000,000 would likely fall to a few thousand. NK and Iran would love to see that. Of course then there is the civil unrest from turning arms against U.S. citizens, economy, ect. ect. from a civil war. it would be years before the country could recover and in the mean time you think gas and food is high now you ain't seen nothing yet. The body count in the millions, homelessness, ect. ect. You think a school shooting was bad you ain't seen nothing yet. Are you really sure you want to trade one for the other? I bet if the FBI knew Ruby Ridge would lead to hundreds of FBI employees dying in Oklahoma they would have thought twice about violating the rights of citizens.

I can't figure out what you people want. This has gone far past the measly proposed gun safety laws.Something more systemic going on with you. You live under the greatest gov. in the world and you spew out all this hate for it.Go figure!

You still don't get it do you? The most powerful military force in the world cannot prevail against a force 50 times it's number unless that force is deprived of arms. If the American people rise up to defend their freedom and they are reasonably armed there IS NO ARMY ON THIS PLANET THAT COULD STAND AGAINST THEM. You have no concept of what an armed force of about 175 million (the approximate number of citizens between the ages of 17 & 45) is capable of. The Founding Fathers knew that no standing army could EVER equal that kind of power and that's why the authored the 2nd amendment.

What rights would those be, sweetie? A women's right to choose perhaps? Gay marriage? Are those the rights you're standing up for. How about the the right of a 6 year old not to be shot at school? What are yo doing to stand up for her right, you silly bag of dog shit.( Oh damn, I've backsled. But you are such a numb nuts).

But I'll give you the benefit over your alligator mouth overloading your humming bird ass. Tell us, oh brave warrior, other than thumping your very skinny chest, what are you doing to stand up against ME and MY TYRANNICAL USURPATION? Cause I just can't see it. And rest assured that me and the 50% compatriots of this country will bury your flimsy ass at your first attempt to usurp our government. I promise!
Call your next of kin piss ant; we'll roll over you like the POS you are.

You fantasize that ALL 175 mill or more gun owners are going to organize in unison and of one mind. Do you realize how unlikely that is? LOL! I know a lot of gun owners--none of whom have your ridiculous mindset

For someone to delude themselves that a bunch of unorganized gun owners could not only hold their own but defeat the US military is naive and comical.

Uh....how are you "standing up"? What are you doing?

More people in the US own more guns than ever before. So, exactly how have your rights to own firearms been usurped?

Do you have any answers?
