Never have to leave the subdivision, sounds more like a cult in action than a church.
I read nowhere in my bible of a church like this.

Be careful members. These things can turn bad. The charasmatic leaders get you to contribute, then start counseling your wives, then after that they are banging them causing all sorts of scandal. Remmember Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggert, don't be surprised when something happens with this Joel Osteen.

He's talking about the retirement community. That will be a place that the elderly will have everything they need around them. It has nothing to do with being a cult. If meeting the needs of the elders in the community is a "cult", don't bother leaving your house granny b because there are organizations throughout the area that do this daily. Additionally, if you can't find a place in your Bible that discusses Churches that are relevant to reaching out and meeting the needs of those around them, you've been reading a very different Bible then the one this church follows. Spend some time reading Paul's letters to the Churches throughout Asia and you'll find many, of what you refer to as "cults."

They're going to build a $100M project on $1M/yr in contributions? Good luck with that folks. I predict that your sermons are going to start sounding like Billy Mays commercials begging for more and more of your money to "serve the Lord".

You folks need to take a look at non-denominational congregations led by charismatic pastors who have visions of bigger-is-better.

And don't sign anything that encumbers you or your estate.

I'm glad to see a church and its followers stepping out in faith. You may have leaders who are charismatic and have vision but it takes the congregation to step up as well. I wish them the best.

Yeah, that's what Jesus preached for sure. Build the biggest building you can afford in my name. And if you don't have the money in your pocket, borrow it.

A retirement home granny! How about reading full details before you start knocking em down. Pinon Hills is nothing close to a cult like organization.

Well, it's apparent that they are very effective at reaching out to the young, modern families. Good for them. There's no social ill that you can point to that can't be helped by some religion in people's lives. And there's precious little of that these days.

On the other hand, I am extremely leery of any church with millions of dollars. There's too much temptation, and I've lived long enough to see many, many charismatic church leaders stumble and fall on that road.

Which road? You know... the road that's paved with good intentions.

You left out Gary Pinion. You know, the previous so called charismatic leader from Pinon Hills Church who used church funds to pay for his PHD and left the church to pursue "bigger and better things." What a joke!

When Baptists deparetfrom the faith they ignore the Word.

"Howbeit the most High dwelleth NOT in temples built with hands.....Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool: What house will ye buile Me? Saith the Lord: Or, what is the place of My rest?" Acts 7:48-49.

"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and eareth, dwelleth NOT in temples made with hands." Acts 17:24.

Take your money to Sun Ray Casino and it will please the Lord as much as building a temple to your own glory.
