Do you guys have "No Common Sense"???????? You sit there and judge without knowing how a police department runs!!!!!!!! Reno's officers have to handle their cases from start to finish. Meaning that may have to go the medical examiers office, or to see a judge, or perhaps to another police dpet in order to get obtain informationon their cases.

If you want judge and criticize a person or department "PLEASE" get your facts straight, before you make yourselves look like fools..... Your city has more then one council meeting per month for the reason nto inform the citizens of what happens in "YOUR" city.

And yes some of the officers live out of the city, which means they take the vehicles to and from. Reno's Police Department is under staffed, under paid, and over worked.

And I guess you are one of them or kin to one or something because that is a crock! They are not over worked, with a $218K police budget they are not under paid and 3 officers for a 3 square mile is not under staffed. Parker County can and would do it better, more efficient and for less money!
There is no reason for an officer to take a City vehicle home unless they live within the city limits of Reno or for crying out loud at least in Parker County. They do not handle things from start to finish, they hand a lot of stuff over to the county! Seen the calls, lots of animal calls, lots of suspicious people or abandoned vehicles.

Medical examiners office in Dallas? Why? If there was a person dead in Reno, wouldn't Parker county medical examiner handle that? Same thing with a Judge. This is just another scam and a way to rape the people of Reno, spend spend spend...

Oh my God , such B.S., I bet if someone were to go on a ride out with a Reno Officer they would be bored to death , or at least never leave the City Hall except for Lunch or to go home .
As a citizen I think it preposterous that a Officer is allowed to take a Squad Car home when they live miles and minutes away , a waste of taxpayers dollars and cannot be justified to a rational person .HEAR THAT CAROL !

First of all Reno is 14 square miles! It is the largest city in Parker county. Don't let the fact it is mostly rural fool you. And the lack of eating establishments????? Hummmmmmm..........
The PD drives their cars home because most of the time they are on call. Would you prefer they never eat? never go home? I think some would bitch if you hung them with a new rope!

Get your facts straight before you go running your mouth.....Reno is not the largest....just second. I have received a no seat belt ticket in sanctuary city limits by a Reno officer. It was dismissed......

Dear Citizen you are such a dumb a-- Parker county will do it for more money two cars and that is for two officers and 911 calls only. Parker county will shove their lack of service up your backside, I know I lived here long before we had a PD and I know how long it takes to get any response from Parker County if they respond at all. Go sell your snake oil and BS to someone who doesn't know better. Damn what a dumba--.

Easy MB, don't let these folks get to you. I know that you are right about Parker County It's called less for more. To just me if the city employees didn't work you would sure know it, the fact that you have safe water to drink proves that. Those people keep it together or we would all be sick from bad water. When lines break they are there no matter the weather, while you cuddle next to the heater or sit under the AC depending on the season. They sure don't make enough for what they do. I can almost guaranty you wouldn't do their job for what they make. And Dumbo-crat Just be glad that someone riding with the PD would be bored, that means they aren't investigating the robbery of your home or even your murder. And to all of you haters if you dislike everything about Reno. Why don't you all get together, figure out a way to to disincorperate, then you can take care of your own water, fire, and police protection and basicly everything else you need and quit your eternal bitchin! This town has so many cry babies that sometimes I just want to puke. On second thought MB you have hit the nail squarly on the head. Damn what a bunch of dumba--es.

Boring IS what is possible when you have a presence of law enforcement. Those people earn their money every day. When they approach someone they have no idea who they are dealing with while that person knows exactly who the officer is. These people deserve respect whether you want a police dept. or not. Our water dept. those guys are out taking care of our water supply, freezing or scorching makes no difference. Again these people deserve respect. The ladies in the office keeping track of everything that goes on in Reno, volunteer to help set up any thing for the special events for our citizens. Again these people deserve respect. I do not understand why people are so rude when it comes to people who take care of us. Yes take care of ALL OF US, like it or not that is the truth. RESPECT even you haters as the man called you know what that means. If not even your mothers should be ashamed of you, and if you have a problem with my opinion WELL that's just too darn bad. So next time you have a problem with any thing handle it yourself. Or better yet call the county and see how much they don't care.

you mean in the City Vehicles that the citizens pay taxes for, they can't all live in Lake Worth, NRH, Dallas, Aledo, Azle... for crying out loud, gas is going through the roof and they can't even stay in Reno. Let them drive their personal vehicle to work then get in the squad car! Like most police departments! Support Reno businesses instead of other cities. Bring their lunch and quit eating at Taco Casa all the time!

If there is a lack of so much then why do we need police in the first place. And Reno is not 14 square miles maybe 14 total miles. You drive in any direction for 3 miles multiple that by 4 yes its 12 miles but it is only 3 square miles... do the math

You know what crazy you really are a whiney bitch. Bet you don't brown bag it. But that's the way people like you are. You know do as I say not as I do. They have to go out of Reno unless they want CE or a burger from SBM. The worst part is no business or eating establihments will ever locate in Reno because of morons like you. Another thing if you were to need police assistance do you want them to pass your home, go to city hall get a car and come back? Hell no you don't, if you need police you need them now not a couple of minutes or a couple of hours from now. Miss Witch was right a moron like you would bitch even if hung with a new rope. This afternoon will cross Reno CL all directions and find out for myself how far it is across and around. I can't take a moron's word on anything. Gee what a dumba--.

Hey crazy we need police for the same reason other towns do it's called crime. You don't need an eating establishment or a store to have crime, just people. I won't argue us being largest second largest or what ever largest. It however is more than 3 miles across in any direction, you might want to check that one yourself because I'm pretty sure you are mistaken on this one. Also why don't you open a cafe, the police could eat there, it would keep them in town, and even let you make some money, hey you might even open a store. I would do business with you, Heck I get tired of having to go to Azle if I want breakfast, lunch, gas for my tractor a soda or even a loaf of bread. Without police protection not you or anyone else is going to open a business here. So you see they are needed whether we like it or not. As far as taking the cars home if they are on call they need them, MB is right if I need them we need them now not later, one of us could be killed in that few minutes it takes them to get to city hall to change cars, so if it is all the same to you they can drive the cars home. And Hagler is going to be no longer with us so you will be glad to know we don't have that cost any longer. By the way Chief so long and thanks for a job well done and the memories, you will be missed by more of us than you think.

Hey crazy just got done reading your post on both polls, got to admit you have a point, on both matters. I am also sure that one of these days we will have cafes, stores, and hopefully other businesses. Until that time we must be tolerant of where our officers, and other city employees go for lunch, they I am sure would like some place closer to go. Personally I buy in Reno when possible, although the hardware store, All Save, and CE are about all we have. Some day. Keep an open mind and think positive. I know that in this town that can be easier said than done(personal experience) but I keep trying. People will tell you Parker County could do it cheaper but that's just wrong. before we had a PD if you needed law enforcement, good luck, they might show up hours later or not at all. Also on the mayoral races like myself and other have said these two are really good at selling themselves, most con men are. Would like for us to be on the same team you do seem to care, but please be more tolerant of the opinions of others. Most of us on this forum do have the best interest of our town in mind. We do deal with too many people who just want to bitch with out knowing all the facts. That gets us a little testy at times. I'm also sure Lynda knows to watch her back, she has been here long enough to know how some of these people are.

I know how they respond to calls a speeding ticket is more important then an assault call. they may show up they may not and if they do its two hours later or the next day if your lucky. that's from the first call then if you try to find out where they are on your case they don't return calls or if you have criminal trespassing papers filled you don't get a copy for yourself they give you why do you need a copy hope you forget and don't ask for a copy.(down play the issue)This is why we have about 12 suicides a year on one street a year and its the same street every year. What is in the water or is it the police protection we have. To me that is not normal to have that many suicides in one year on the same street. there is a reason for it I have not seen that many on one street anywhere else like this happen the community nickname is death row lane.
