OK, so we all know there has been lots of snow and roofs collapsing. Why is Ayer just now dealing with this issue when the impact of school closings is setting up a potential major impact with the schedule and make ups? Shouldn't the roofs been inspected and snow removal done say a week ago? Maybe on the weekend to avoid the impact of closing schools?

To make matters worse, they are notifying parents on A "day to day basis" as to weather there will be school the following day. Parents of Ayer school students are finding out via reverse 911 calls at 6pm or even later weather they will be open or not. Not ample time to find care for your children!

Did a drive by at both the Ayer Shirley Middle School in Shirley, and the High School in Ayer, today 2/10.
I must say, Shirley has Ayer beat in their cooperation from their DPW. They were there helping out with 'many' dump trucks, with the hauling away of the snow that was removed/dropped from the roofs. Shirley had the whole operation down to a system,'working together' looked great!

On the other hand in Ayer, the piles of snow from yesterday's snow removal from the Page Hilltop School and what was removed from the high school was just left there, in huge mounds next to the buildings. Can't see out of some windows.
A great showing of Ayer's town support of their property and departments helping each other out.

To all the people working, Thanks!!
Wish you'd have been called a week ago.

Since we have a child at Page Hilltop we get these recorded school phone messages. Not a bad concept. This evening we received a recorded message from Supt. Frost. Unfortunately it was fragmented stopping then restarting three times and difficult to listen to. The message was very unprofessional. This man should not be allowed to speak with the public. I heard he makes something like a quarter of a million dollars and if so we need a refund. In the past other messages we have received were from the technology people and were clear and consise.
