Congratulations to Chief Scott. No doubt a good choice for Pepperell. Wish we could say the same thing about the Board of Selectmen.

According to paragraph four, "Davis's $123,000 salary had added educational incentives. Scott's salary will be set at $110,000 per year for the next two-and-a-half years and include educational incentives and all other considerations. The move saves the town approximately $13,000, Moak said Tuesday." Are you kidding me? The bogus so-called "educational incentives" are in there? Remember, Alan's total compensation package was second only to Dr. Maureen Marshall's. And the town only "saved" approximately $13,000 promoting from within replacing a 35 year veteran 20 years as chief?

They just don't get it. Didn't the BOS hear about the economy? It was in all the papers.

I usually don't take issue with others for getting a good deal for themselves but this seems excessive. I wonder how it compares with other towns. That probably explains it.

The BOS don't get it. Taxpayers are tapped out. The chiefs salary is obscene for a small town. Not to mention the pension and benefits that normal working people could only dream of. Reform now!

I'm sure it is right in line with other area towns for a Chief, but how does it compare with some salaries that we already pay for in our own town.

The school positions are North Middlesex. The first three are not P.A.T.- not even close! Did the district office provide you with the town info as well?

Sory for the error on the town positions, it was read wrong on my part.
The school salaries on the other hand are on the district web site by individual contract (not just the budget) and are accurate.

I think all the pepperell cops should get $110,000.00 base pay and lots of time and half wages, and details with a 12 hour minimium per detail starting at 500 bucks an hour. All cops should get take home cars, pick of your car of course, 200 days vacation per year, 100 sick days and 30 personal days a year and be able to retire at the age of 25.

Yup that's would be a great idea..as far as the school system goes, lay off the teachersm home school your kids and close the schools down then we can save about 30 miliion bucks.....
