Thankful for grace, I see you as a sister in Christ. My words are about the Church of Christ under Johnny's control, not the other ones.

You stated it precisely. "under Johnny's control"

This is part of what makes Johnny a cult leader. JR only represents a small sect within the CoC, not the whole. All progressives will write him off as one off in left field and many conservatives will not stand on his side. The way to see Johnny sliding and making no ground is watch him try to add more time and money to his programs. This is a demonstration that he has failed and failed big-time. He realizes that he has failed and attempts to make some headway by adding more programming which only hurts him more. His ego has blinded him from seeing what we all see. I hope he continues to add more shows so more people can see how he has corrupt the CoC.

"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on even the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. then Peter said, "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have" Acts 10:44-47

AMEN!

Acts 10:34-35
34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said:"In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."

Who will God accept, Peter? Whoever fears Him and works righteousness.

Peter says it was the same as on them in the beginning thus they were saved prior to baptism. Again you have proven our points, hhmmm

The gospel of Christ is not salvation by water. Jesus shed His blood that sins are removed. The veil torn down making us able to come boldy before the throne of God who rains on us grave on behalf of the work of Jesus.

I love how you protesters throw around the word Gospel. It means one thing, the good news of Jesus the Christ. All of it.

Axel:

Who gave you the authority to speak for God. Others on here already have that authority.

What is the best way for us to identify with our new found faith? It is water baptism. Why? Because it is a symbol of the death burial and resurrection of Christ and we to can expect that new life to be ours.

Another description is that it is a way for us to physically re-enact the message of the cross which makes it come alive not only by hearing it but by experiencing it. But the water is not what saved us-it was the blood that was shed for our forgiveness.

It is obvious this is one of those thing you don't know if it is true and you don't have the ability to know.

Jesus: "Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you. A child could understand this.

Jesus did not say that Peter did. other translations say this:

And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Let me ask you this: Did the water save Noah or did the Ark save him from drowning? You might have to go the the scripture to find the answer.

Synecdoche uses a part to represent a whole. This is the case when Peter says 'baptism' now saves you. Peter was NOT teaching baptismal regeneration. Did your Pope tell you what Peter meant or did you draw your own conclusion like a "child could understand this". Make up your mind, can a child understand scripture or does he need a Pope? Wonder if the Pope was a "child" at one time?

I am glad you bring this up. Now we get to translations and what words are in what translations of what Bible

How can a book with 30,000 translations in the world today, with hundreds of thousands of copies made by hand from the first Bible, with errors from the original text creeping in by mistake and/or intentionally by the monks making these copies for a 1000 years, be the sole rule of faith.

Add to that, that only 5% of the world could read at Jesus' time.

Yet you want a book, a book, think about it, a book, that you buy at a bookstore by who knows what publisher, to be the sole rule of faith when that book says it is not the pillar and foundation of truth.

We have one cruel God if he left us a book in Charge.

It is profitable for teaching, the main reason the Church created it.

Bizarre. Very Bizarre.

You protesters have proven that you cannot understand scripture much less than a child can. You believe differently than your father or grandfather and your children or grandchildren will believe something different from you reading the same words.

The Church was one on until the 1500s when the heresy of Protestantism started. SS was one of evil one's greatest invention to divide up the Body.

King James Bible
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

The saving grace is you are devouring each other now and the end of this heresy is in sight.

All of the world was only evil all of the time. Noah was the exception but the question is why did God send the flood? Did he send the flood to save Noah? Or, did God plan to destroy the evil in the world?

So if mike can think logically he will know that God through the faith of Abraham built a boat to preserve mankind through Noah's family.

Now the big question did the water save Noah or was it the ark???

You see, this is another symbol of death burial and resurrection. The world died in the flood water and only one family survived.

In like manner water also symbolizes the death and resurrection of Christ.

No where does the story give credit to water as a saving instrument it was an instrument of death.

The ark saved Noah and Christ saves us! By faith Noah built the ark. By faith we believe Christ was raised from death. Pretty simple when we think about it...

Proven to who? You? Some drunk parish priest?

You and your church can't even decide which version of the Catholic bible to read and stick with. How many versions are you guys up to now?

The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth. Not a book.

Please show where Jesus built his Church on a book.

Scripture trumps all fables/ fictitious tales . Jesus did not build a temple for the church to dwell in as Mike seems to think.

16Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.…

So, if this is true then the church is made up from believers all over the world there is no special name or location because we are the temple. He knows his people and he does not discriminate because of race color or gender.

Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation.

I challenge Mike to look at a man or woman sitting in the park and see if he can tell if they are in Christ. Of course if they were sitting in his church/temple and wearing a rosary he would be able to tell...

Christ in us and we in him is our only hope of glory!!!

You are God's Temple
16Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.…

There is not one teaching the Church has that contradicts anything in the Bible.

Why do you think Jesus never mentioned the Bible?

He did say that the OT scripture is profitable for teaching.

The Church decided certain scriptures written after Jesus was profitable for teaching too.

Why is Mark and Luke in the Bible?

They weren't Apostles.

Why weren't the writings of the Apostles Andrew,, Philip, Bartholomew (called Nathaniel in John—s Gospel)), Thomas, the other James , and Simon not in the NT
