Woman Charged In Fatal Crash With New Trooper

The 40-year-old woman accused of driving into oncoming traffic, killing a state trooper who was on the job just three months, was charged with multiple crimes Tuesday, including homicide by vehicle and DUI.

This selfish woman has no idea the unfathomable pain she has caused the Iwaniec family/fiancee/friends and the PSP extended family. It is up to every citizen in the Commonwealth of PA to email/write/contact their elected officials and scream for stricter drunken/buzzed driving laws to protect not only all of us, but the enforcers of the law. Seriously, when is this going to stop??
I fully support the first comment--no amount of remorse this woman says she feels is enough...the choice she made to drive drunk and take the life of one of the "First and Finest" should haunt her all the days left of her life.

This is precisely why alcoholics need to be treated for the disease. My son is an alcoholic and we tried everything we could to get him to stop drinking. There was always another excuse. If it was raining, he wanted a drink, If it was sunny, he wanted a drink. He was involved in three separate driving incidents that involved alcohol and each time he got away with it. Then he had another and lost his license for one month, then another and lost it for one year, then another where he lost it for one year with an additional year with an intoximeter installed on the ignition. He drove drunk with his little children in the car, he was a disaster waiting to happen. Now he has been on Naltrexone and antabuse for seven months, along with hypnosis therapy. He has not had a drink and he swears that he doesn't crave alcohol. We were at the point that we were going to petition the courts to grant custody of his children to us. We were moving in that direction because his wife was unable to stand up to him. If he falls off the wagon we will immediately remove the children from his household. Her family needs to get tough.

Why wasn't endangering the welfare of a child included in the charges against her? She had her 4 year old son in the vehicle with her on her 'joyride'.

I am sure that she is and entire disgrace to her family. She is lucky that her son is not dead and has to live with that on top of knowing that she did kill a mother's son. Nothing but the deepest sorrowful sympathy needs to go out to the trooper's family, she is lucky to even be able to breath in prision.

This was murder plain and simple. She killed someone regardless if it was with a car she stilled killed someone she should be charged with murder and sentenced for murder not vehicle homicide (and get a short sentence plus probabtion) Life she took a life she should not be able to have a life now he doesn't because of her.

Drunk drivers or Drug-addict drivers always walk away from it. Why is that innocent motorists who "obey" the law end up paying the price with their lives? She gets no pity from me. It could have been me and my kids in the car instead of the state trooper.

I have read all of the comments so far. I am one of the Troppers closes friend. He was like another son to me. She deserves the max and beyond,that the courts can throw at her. Firestar, your simple little comments to get others rile up is so useless. Little minded people such as yourself are to be pittied. Apparently you don't have to much of a life. Maybe you too could go and help her hold her walker into the court room. The women that killed/murdered our Kenton,deserves to rot. Her little show of "o pitty me" with the walker. How very insulting. Her attorney should also face a penalty for be so arrogant. To even try to gain an ounce of pitty from anyone. The loss we suffer each and everyday.
