After the New Year sounds just fine. I also really want to make it happen, and we will. Enjoy the Holidays and we'll set a date soon.

How frustrating. Just several doors down, multiple shots last night and 2 dead.
I moved out here with zero hesitation and all I want is to head back into Phoenix and away from all these ..... people.(racially fed up).

I've lived in Laveen since 2004 and moved here with the intention of staying for at least 10 years (until my daughter graduated high school). After one year at Cheatham (the school's first and worst year apparently) I pulled her out of the school district. Anyway, I've been disappointed with how the area has developed (regarding the people) and I would totally be willing to get involved in what everyone is talking about. I'd like to sell my house but that is unrealistic right now. I still like this place for the same reason I moved out here. I won't even get started on the things that have happened in my neighborhood but most recently my boyfriend got his car broken into twice. The second time, he didn't have anything in there because he learned the first time!!!

We moved to Laveen 2 years ago and have never had anything negative happen personally to us but are definitely concerned about some of the crime in our area. Totally agree with diminishing section 8 housing - contact city council about having more patrol cars...we are happy to see a few more these days...and be "aware" of what's happening in your neighborhood - get involved in HOA and neighborhood watches. Take walks with your family and dogs and be "visible" in your neighborhoods. I do try to connect with neighbors but many don't seem to speak English so I end up connecting with their kids which can also be very enlightening. The south PHX crime seems to bleed over into our nice little village...I also seem to always be picking up trash at Fry's, at Walmart, wherever...somehow we need to raise the standard of customer service, presentational excellence and pride in our homes in this area...any ideas?

I don't believe section 8 is the problem. Im an home owner with properties all over the valley. I rent to section 8 tenant. They have background checks done on them twice a year. The house is inspected yearly. Section 8 protects your property. I would rather.have a section 8 tenant then a normal tenant then. If any crime is done they are thrown off the program.

My daughter was shot in 2010. And she was attack by a teachers aide who works at chavez high during off campus hours. And it was all done by people who was home owners..... Just because you own your home don't mean your prefect. And just because your on section 8 don't mean your not prefect. Wake up leaven the problem is not section 8.

I have lived in that neighborhood for a little over a year and did not see anything wrong with it before and I still do not see anything wrong with it today? I see poeple riding their atv's and riding their horses down the street and I do not find anything wrong with that. It is very sad that two poeple had to loose their lives the way that they did or in any other way, no matter what thier race or ethnic background it is still a tragity. This happens all over the world and does not matter where you live or who you move next to. The thing that angers me is the ignorance and rascist comments/remarks that the neighbors who say live next to or accross from where the shooting uccurred are saying?! Poeple can have a party any day of the year if they want to and there is no HOA in that neighborhood so I don't know what the F*#.! you are talking about! All you ignorant/paranoid neighbors need to chill out and watch what you say! The only VERMINE are people with no tolerance and nothing but ignorance. I love living in that neighborhood and I don't think we need a neighhood watch going through our backyard watching our every move, that is an invasion of privacy and don't feel ok with people walking around being nosy and sticking their nose where it don't belong!
