Tattoos have been in for awhile. It's good to see that the police are relaxing their restrictions, although that's not going far enough. There shouldn't be any restrictions at all.

A tattoo doesn't hurt anyone. It's not like doing drugs or committing any other crime.....it's a personal choice that doesn't affect anybody else. Nobody should be looked down upon for having tattoos. Anyone who does look down upon someone for having them needs to find a way out of the previous century.

i have a tattoo of my child's name and birth date he was killed when he was 2 by a drunk driver and 20 other people(friends &family) have the same tat and im not a hillbilly or some low life im a mother who is grieving for her child and i don't think tats are ugly or disgusting

So people who get tattoos are residents of the hills? I am a tattooist in cleveland, ohio. I give them and recieve them. So i reside in the hills? I thought i resided in Lakewood. To my point exactly...my client base consists of police officers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, political figures, teachers, postal workers, ford workers, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, THE WHOLE DAMN CITY OF CLEVELAND YOU SAY ARE IGNORANT HILLBILLYS? I think everyone who took offense to being called a hillbiily is missing the point. This label (hillbilly) has been around since the Revolutionary War. The Scottish had fought long and hard against the British. It was called the Great Williamite Rebellion. When the British soldiers came to America they realized that they were fighting the same people. They called my ancestors "Hillbillies" as a means to disrespect them. I think you should all read the book "Born Fighting - How the Scots-Irish Built America". Hillbilly is a term of respect for us. We are not ignorant. We are usually the people who are the first to run to the defense of this country.

I can't wait to get my third tattoo - but I have to find a good place near Akron to get it; I've been to Custom Kulture (sp?) in Tallmadge, but the guy was a huge douche, so I need to find a new place. Any recommendations?

I have a tattoo on my right shoulder blade of a cross and a flower with a ribbon around the cross with my daughters name. The tattoo is permanent and that is fine because my little girl is permanently my daughter. I will have both forever. I also have Lady Justice on my left shoulder blade which encompasses the last 14 years I have spent in law enforcement. They are both reminders to me of whats important to me and what I stand for and I am proud to let others know where I stand.

I fully understand the concept of tatoos and whether you find them acceptable or not. What I do not understand is how people cannot use another term when they don't agree with someone's choice to tatoo themselves. The term hillbilly is not automatically relegated to stupidity. If you don't agree with someone be creative not offensive. I stumbled upon this sight looking for ideas to honor my ancestors with a tatoo. That's true; we all age, though, and while some of those little old ladies will regret getting their tats, a lot of them will be like "Hey, this is when I..." and be proud that they can still remember what it was like and what was happening in their lives when they got them.

I'll never regret my tats (I currently have 2 and I have plans to get more eventually) and each one has signifigance to me. I'm proud to be an inked person!
