Used to like to go here for t-shirts, but it seems the owner cares more about politics than business. Saw the prominently-displayed Obama sign, and decided not to enter. Like musicians and actors who blabber about politics, this business apparently does not care whether it alienates a large portion of its patrons. Oh we'll, it was nice while it lasted, Mermaid's Folly, but I (and my family) don't vacation to learn your political views.

Well, apparently you have strong political views also. This review does not bother us as we have a roaring business and live in this great country where we are free to express ourselves. We do not talk politics unless someone brings the subject . The majority of citizens on Ocracoke Island are Democrats so perhaps you may think of going somewhere else for vacation. We are just brave enough to be Americans who believe in the freedoms we enjoy and participate in elections.

True professionals don't broach politics at work and in fact there are places where doing so will result in disciplinary action. The workplace is a place for just that, NOT a forum for race, politics, etc..Those that don't realize this are contributing to the polarization of our society.

"Well, apparently you have strong political views also." Mute point.

"We do not talk politics unless someone brings [up] the subject" By prominently displaying political signs you ARE talking politics.

"we have a roaring business" Ocracoke is just like any other American town/city exploiting illegal aliens. True immigration reform will devastate American business, Ocracoke's microcosm included.

"The majority of citizens on Ocracoke Island are Democrats..." Only until true immigration reform occurs and only until the effects of the ACA are realized. Enjoy while you can.

"so perhaps you may think of going somewhere else for vacation." Again, mute point.

"We are just brave enough to be Americans who believe in the freedoms we enjoy..." Which are being eroded every day by Democrats. As for bravery, don't EVEN go there because statistics are NOT in your favor and you INSULT those that are. Your type would be the first to cower in the face of danger.

Everyone that lives on the OBX knows there are three classes of people that live here: Trust fund babies, greedy, arrogant, transplanted Yankees and finally, locals. It's pretty obvious where you stand.

I would suggest you see an optician and request some glasses that are a different color but it would be senseless as people such as yourself are not capable of seeing and dealing with the obvious reality/facts/etc..

My favorite quotes:

"Why would we want to do that?" Harry Reid

"We'll have to pass the law to, ugh, ugh, ugh, see what’s in it” Nancy Pelosi

"I took the initiative in creating the Internet.” Al Gore

Drove by today. Funny thing, no Obama sign!

Maybe the owner(s) took it down once they saw their new healthcare premiums! lol
