Several years I got the strong feeling that Jacob was buied near a road and farm. the topography looked as if corn was growing there. I did talk to a family member while attending a doctors appointment in Duluth Minnesota. I did not want to sound like a nut case but the place had to be flat land in Minnesota with large fields.
I hope for the sake of the family members that some closure and peac can come fro this. My family has prayed for all concerned and want to thank them for turning their terrible loss into helping others. The family seems very extraordinary and we wish them peace.

I do not know this family except from the news-and I will never forget the sick feeling I got when this happened..... my son is the same age as Jacob and yes he is in my lfe and I just can not fathom loseing him in any way shape or form. The pain that family must have gone through and still must. The not knowing-etc.

I guess I just want to tell them I have prayed for your family since this happened and I will continue to pray for you. God Bless you all.

Jacob touched so many hearts that night. None of us will give up until we bring Jacob home.

Why is her husband almost never mentioned in this whole saga?. I feel for him as he must grieve also. She is exclusively made out to be the heroine in this tragedy. She is a failed democrat would be politician and the father?? No body knows or cares.

I believe they are divorced... Patty has kept the search going while her x-husband has put it behind him.

I sure hope they find something that can lead to Jacob. This family needs closure. I can't imagine having to live for almost 21 years not knowing what happened and if he is dead or alive.

I know it's probably a challenge for you, but if you read the article his father is mentioned a number of times.

They are NOT divorced.

The Wetterlings are not divorced. Patty was more involved from the start as she was a stay at home mom. And people grieve in different ways. Those are the reasons Jerry is more in the background.

No, they're not divorced. They both live together still, he has a Chiropractic office in St. Joe still. Just a quiet guy.

Patty should not have used her son's tragedy for political purposes, but having lost a son myself in a car accident my heart still goes out to the family.

She did not use the tragedy for her political career. But certainly the experience she gained starting the foundation, that is now a national organization can be counted as experience toward being a candidate. She was a stay at home mom when this happened. Surely the experience she gained working with various organizations to find him can be applied to an office she was running for. I would not call it "using" the tragedy anymore than putting down other career accomplishments would be "using." How many of us would want to gain experience through the lost of a child.

A bizarre comment which added nothing to this discussion.

I read the article and all the others. The father is mentioned only in passing with hardly a quote. It's all Patti-everytime. Read the byline. Why???

The family must be in agony all over again over this. As sad as it is, hopefully something is found and they, along with the rest of us can close this very sad mystery.

That isn't the impression I got on the news today. It said they live in the same house and never changed their phone number just in case Jacob needs to reach them. They were very much together in the story on the number 5.

She was the stay at home mom and he works to support the family. He is also a much less public personality. I know them. DO YOU?

Sorry you hate women because sooooooo many have dumped you.....no wonder you are so bitter. Lucky they escaped you!

One can only hope that this tragedy comes to an end in one fashion or another.

Good to see that a tragedy like this cannot escape the tired political bs.
