No, it's not true. Come on out, this place is deffinatly a step up from Cleveland. We moved here 7 yrs ago and love it. Move to the east side, less people.

The east side of Lorain in perfect. It's a nice area, great people. Close to shopping, the highway, the lake. A large selection of homes to buy or rent. The elementary and jr. high schools are new. I could go on. If you want anymore info just ask.

I am possibly looking at a job in Lorain, OH. I would have to move there for a few months or maybe it could be permant. How is the temporary housing market there? Would I have to live closer to Cleveland? What is the cost of living there? Any thoughts you would have on the city would be greatly appreciated.

Temporary housing is plentiful. You can rent a whole house for around 650.00. Apartments are cheaper. Look at the Lorain Morning journal. Lorain County is cheaper than Cuyahoga County. If you are looking to live in the city of Lorain I suggest looking to live on the east side . I moved from Cleveland and enjoy living here. You might hear from others who have a biased opinion, but so far we have had no problems.

Avon Lake is wonderful! My husband and I just moved here from Knoxville, TN and we love it! We only plan on being here until he retires from Jones Day and then we'll move to Phoenix with the grandbabies!!!
Not me. Don't mean to be nasty, but I have never heard of Avon Lake. By the way I can't believe you took the time to read all of my posts so that you could use that bit of info. What the hell is Jones Day?

I'm sorry. I'm really from Avon Lake. An imposter from another board stole and registered my name, so now they follow me around and stalk me!
Avon Lake is good, but it is pricey. Lorain is a wee bit cheaper when it comes to housing.

Avon Lake is the best community between Lorain and Cleveland if you have children and can afford.
