Canal Place / abandoned house

Anybody remember back before Canal Place was built off Rte. 10 across from The Hartford, when there was a house in that location that was abandoned with everything left behind? I recall going into the house at least once and being creeped out by the fact that all the things a family needs - food, pictures, clothes, books, furniture, etc.-- were just sitting in the house, which had been trashed by the time I got in there. Anybody know anything about this?

I remember the area but not the house. You should've taken pictures.
