Chase gives more money to the homeless and impoverished than most people make in a year! or even ten years!
He has every right to spend his money on whatever he wishes, and the Town of West Hartford gave him the permits to do so.
Way to go Mr. Chase! Your family is an American success story!

If I make $100 and give $10 away, its much more than if I made $100,000,000 and gave away even $10,000,000. You can still live on $90,000,000 pretty easily. When you have so much money that you can't keep track of it, there is no feat to give some to charity. The real charity is when you give to another when you're not so rich and it comes from your heart and your sweat.

Sure, spend on what you want, it doesnt mean its not a materialistic and over bearing affront to everyone. How much do you really need? 100 seat theater? Give me a break, I'd rather go with my family to a real theater and enjoy their company rather than 2 years from now be taking this for granted. This is just in your face I've got more than you stuff.

And btw, this isn't news, its a society piece...

Good for the Chases! They came from nothing and worked their butt off for the success they have today. Why be rude to them when I am sure they donate to charity and you all prolly don't. Work harder and enjoy the fruits of your labor..America is the country of opportunity...Jealousy is not pretty.

Congrats to Arnold on his new digs...I knew him when he was buying parts for his Corvette at Grody's in the early 70's.......(I think it was a '68'?) You've come a long way Arnold..
Now retired and living in Hawaii I still keep up on West Hartford news. I love the COURANT.COM it keeps me in touch.

Ahhh, worthless peons. Behold my castle. Maybe some day I'll let the Courant photograph it. That's about as close to royalty as most of you will ever get. Now get back to work.

Just to show I'm not a Scrooge, I also built a 5,000 sq ft cottage for my servants and another 6,000 sq ft house for my hoes. It's good to be RICH.

THE BOMB SHELTER IS LEFT OUT..........According to building plans on file at Town Hall in West Hartford, the basement of Chase's home includes the two-level theater with stadium seating, a concession stand, ticket booth, a soda fountain, sitting area, vending machines and separate restrooms for men and women.
?WHY?

Why not? I am one of the lucky few who have been inside the Chase house, including very recently and all you jealous haters can eat it. It's everything you dream of times ten, He worked for his money so let him do what he wants.

Peace.
