victor dexter of perfect touch auto restoration charged me a lot of money to restore my beautiful car then trashed it by leaving it outside with the window open for 10 months. if you could see it now, you not believe it. Greetings! My van was involved in a accident in Feb 2009. I met Decker at his then location in FREEHOLD NJ (PEFECT TOUCH AUTO RESTORATION). He told me he could fix the van for $2000. I gave him a check, which I should not have done. He moved to Asbury Park 1011 Asbury Avenue. The van was parked in a impound lot across the street from his shop. He never did anything with it. I constantly called him prior and he always had a story to tell, ie., his father was ill, his daughter was sick, he didn't have enough employees to work on the van, the weather wasn't good, the list goes on and on. I filed with the BBB, Consumer Affairs and he would not respond to their request to answer questions. Filed in Small Claims Ct. He never showed up. Now I have to file a default judgement and need his social security number to do so. Of course I can't get it. Now I'm stuck, and will be out of the $2000 and the van, which needs to be junked. Oh my God! I saw an ad in the paper for car restorations about two weeks ago and agreed to meet with Vic (no last name given). He looked my car over, put it on a lift, showed me flaws (legitimate), and gave me a price for exhaust system and paint job. He also agreed to pick my car up in So Plainfield NJ. It's a 1979 corvette with 25K miles. The name on his invoice was Perfect Touch Auto Restoration, 1825 Old Mill Rd, Wall NJ 07719. I am sick to my stomach after reading your posts and hope and pray that this is not the nightmare I envision. He called yesterday (10/28/09) to tell me about the progress of my car which he said should be finished next week. worst part? im a mechanic....he screws his own.

I'm into Vic for exactly $14,500 with no results, no car and no contact from him for months now. My car was supposed to be done by summer and a dozen calls have gone unanswered. I would LOVE to be part of a joint complaint or action against him and Perfect Touch, if that entity even exists any more. [e-mail]

Well, It's possible because you're the 2nd person in history i've seen thats said something good. I've been contacted offline by dozens of Victor victims and when I went to court last week to sue for the damages he did to my car (won by default of course as do all because Victor doesnt show up) I handed the judge the copies of some 18 people with horror stories and the judge said he was not surprised because he saw the name of who I was suing, he had seen it many times in the past. On the rare occasion Victor does try, we is good at what he does but its hard to give someone any slack that owes innocent victims tens of thousands of dollars, strips and abandons their cars, then leaves town and re-opens putting the business in someone elses name repeatedly. hhm.. Sounds slightly crooked.. ya think?

Sounds like he takes money from everyone, does work on some of the cars and then does his best to avoid the rest of us.
