I have lived in Carthage all my life and have never been ashamed of Carthage.
Until now! McCune brooks hospital has a lot to change besides location.
We have health care people at McCunebrooks that should work at a graveyard.
I will point fingers and name, names.
Dr. Dillard has to be one of the worse doctors ever and McCune Brooks has received many a complaints about him.
If he doesn't like you and your in the emergency room you might as well leave.
I went to the hospital the other day complaining with chest pains. I have COPD, Emphizeme and many medical problems.
I go to the hospital I am seen pretty quick by the triage but then I am placed in a room and wait 3 hours for dr. dillard to see me.
I got up and walked out, went to Freemans and was admitted because of my lungs and sugar level.
It only takes 1 doctor Dillard or 1 nurse Linda to ruin a hospital.
Anyone else have this same problem?

I agree with you about the services at McCune Brooks Hospital. I’ve taken my young son there several times and each time the care was awful. My son has severe asthma and on one visit after putting him in a room he had to wait so long for a breathing treatment he stated that it felt as if he was going to pass out. On his last visit he had severe pneumonia along with being an asthmatic and was admitted by Dr. Quay(?), the following day the rude Dr. Dillard came in to see my child and suddenly discharged him – 2 days later my son was seen by his physician and quickly admitted into a another hospital. The next day he had to have SURGERY to remove the fluid from his lung. I feel that Dr. Dillard didn't even care enough to take the time to check my son out to see what kind of problems he was having before he carelessly discharged him, and if he continues to treat others in this manner SHAME ON HIM AND THE HOSPITAL FOR ALLOWING HIM TO WORK THERE. My family and I will make the drive to Joplin for quality medical care from now on.

NOT ALL EMPLOYEE'S AT MCCUNE BROOKS HOSPITAL HAVE A BAD BEDSIDE MANNER. THERE ARE ALOT OF GREAT PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE AND THERE ARE BIG CHANGES TO COME. ALONG WITH THE NEW HOSPITAL, THERE ARE GOING TO BE MANY CHANGES THAT I BELIEVE WILL CHANGE THE MINDS OF THOSE WHO DON'T THINK VERY HIGHLY ABOUT MCCUNE BROOKS. WE WILL BE CHANGING THE FACE OF HEALTHCARE. OUR STANDARDS OF SEVICE AND CARE WILL BE SET HIGH. SO PLEASE DON'T MAKE YOUR MIND UP ABOUT US JUST YET. I AM SORRY FOR THE TREATMENT YOU RECIEVED IN OUR HOSPITAL. ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND I HOPE I HAVE WITH AN APOLOGY AND A PROMISE. A PROMISE THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE THE BEST HOSPITAL AROUND THIS AREA. YOU WAIT AND SEE!

ER care leaves a lot to be desired. I too was not diagnosed right, and ended up needing surgery. The correct diagnosis would have saved me from this painful and very long recovery from shoulder surgery. More than an apology is needed, and I am thinking of that very thing.

I also thought the ER had not diagnosed my condition right. I went investigating the situation. I got my records from my 2 visits. I also went to the x-ray department and got my xrays. After I read the reports, I found that they did everything right, except one thing. I would recommend the ER for emergencies.

My stay at McCune-Brooks Hospital was a wonderful experience. The staff members were very thoughtful and the physician I saw was fantastic. It really is a beautiful place to be sick in my opinion. The nurses took really good care of me and my condition and other staff members seemed to want me to feel comfortable. I really liked my stay there and will not go back to Freeman or St.John's if I can help it.

I didn't really think the world of all the people there but your right. Most of them really did stop and talk to you and try to make you feel comfortable while you are waiting to see your doctor. My x-ray only took a few minutes to get done and my doctor recieved the results very quickly. I'm alway's a stickler for going to a hospital when I'm sick and don't like to wait so this visit worked out well for me.

I was in the ER three times this weekend for the same pains in my neck, shoulder, and arm. the care I got was not very polite and I could hear them talking about me in the hallway. It's always nice to hear that the doctors and nurses that are treating you think that you are a pill popping junkie looking for your next fix. Not to mention the snide comments about my wife deciding to show up with me the last time I went. If they would have bothered to check me over the first time, I would not have had to gone back the other two times.

The Topix engine does it (it is fairly amazing how it works, but it doesn't work perfectly).

Well, I was born in McCune Brooks Hospital, and had to go there as a child. I remember a Doctor "Wong" I think, there or across the street. I can still recall seeing & smelling the cigarette smoke from the Doctors chain-smoking in the offices, and I have this memory of a Doctor touching me on the examination table with a cigarette in his hand! Boy, those were the good ol' days! Sounds like the Hospital has not come very far in the new century, either.

I don't know why McCuneBrooks doesn't get rid of the ones that don't want to really be there.
Such as doctor Dillard and nurses that don't want their jobs, there are plenty of people out there needing jobs with the same degrees.

As usual, you don't know what you're talking about, and as usual, that doesn't stop you from talking.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Pisces

Keep well clear of anything or anyone that looks like being a problem, but at least you can hold your own. This is a marvellous day for taking care of someone who isn't very well at the moment or who needs all the sympathy and understanding you can give them.
