Good thing is our system still works, yes in any private or public agency or corporations and business who have "Humans" will have flaws, corruption, wrong doings, misdeeds. From Government to Hospitals to Clergy. No acceptions to being a flawed person.
I glad an alleged police official is off the job and under indictment, now we need to let the system work and the facts prevail. I am proud to see both New Times and The Tribune did fair open factual stories for us to understand. What is wrong and terrible is a blog site ran by 2 terminated former writers posting lies, and so many deceitful non authentic stories. My guess is that the case will never go to trial, a plea will be made, the officer will be fired this week, he will cooperate with the FBI to see if others in the unit are involved to ensure the integrity and ethics of the unit are intact and those in it, Protected.
No agency, bureau, police, or people are above the Law ever, a few years ago a FBI Agent with the Joint Terrorism Task Force was indicted and fired and sent to Federal Prison for corruption. So even the FBI investigates it's own the unit is call OPR,( Office of Professional Responsibility) that agent had deep ties in SLO, but was indicted in SF and tried and convicted.
I assume this officer will roll over, give up names , accounts, emails, cell #'s, and his Confidential Informant list. He will most likely go to rehab, probation and never ever be in Police work ever again and move away. he could be on of the many who have leaked information to certain people to move attention from major investigations and smuggling/money laundering time will tell.

Unfortunately the system does not work, if you think Cory was alone you dead wrong, he made a deal to keep his retirement workers comp. What the police did not tell you is there are more than another 9 known corrupt cops.
Many using hookers, young girls, drug dealers who pay off the cops, cops who let real crooks off if they provide them with certain favors ?
So bottom line is we still have some very corrupt police to include quid quo pro with one high ranking person with a local dealer this official is even frineds with this convicted trafficker.
