What a bummer...we drove into town to try the new Lu Ella's (sp) Bar-B-Q on Merrimon and were greeted by a sign on the door that said: Closed Today Due To Equipment Failure. An we were all psyched up to try the bar-b-q. A word of caution the next few days so you don't burn needless gas like we did...call and make sure they are open...I've no idea what "equipment" went belly-up or how fast it's going to up and running.

Here's hoping the best for them, visited their South Asheville place several times, great food and service!

Previous posts are likely written by a bunch of bbq competitors. I say you can never have enough bbq purveyors. Of course, the best bbq in the entire world is Ridgewood BBQ near Bluff City, Tennesee. All the others are pretenders. That's the fact, Jack.

Just wanted to give a heads up anyone thinking of going in the next day or two to call before driving 20 miles one way and finding no bar-b-q to chew on. The least they could have done was put some napkins by the door so us droolers that started salivating when we drove into the parking lot could wipe our chins! Thanks for the invite...might have to take you up on that someday...the bar-b-q part I mean since we already get to play on Topix. By the way, do you do your B-B-Q rubbed, wet, vinegar pulled or smoked? Been raining here for 30 minutes...hope it rains all night!

The best BBQ is served at "Bozo's", in Mason, TN, just east of Memphis. Been in business since 1923. First ate there in early 1950's, real thing, been cooking in the same pit for over 70 years since their first building burned and they moved across the street. Gus's Chicken is near wher they used to be.

But Memphis in general has the best BBQ you can find anywhere.

There's only 3 or 4 children on here that get a kick out of doing that, and that's all they post. They haven't posted anything of substance – ever! They are the equivalent of juveniles throwing eggs at cars and then running like hell back into the darkness hoping not to get caught and discovered…but we know who they are, it’s as easy as finding that drunk in the midnight choir. As for this place called Bozo's, I think it was previewed on the Food Network during one of their "Best Rib Joints" reviews. I think their last annual installment had some rib joint in Chicago winning...wait, the Food Network does it but maybe it was the Today Show or GMC that just did a segment on `best rib joints in America’? Anyway...I agree it was nice to read something from Mr. GD that wasn't purposefully designed to inflame. Oh, and in my opinion GD is not one of the 3 or 4 egg throwing delinquents I mentioned...I can't believe I said that about GD and my skin didn't turn green (lol). May you prevail!

Stoned Jack got out his calculator and scratched his head and bum.... and then figured out down to the penny how much he was out for the heartbreaking dry run to Louella Schmuella. Big scowl on Stoned Jack's face. Hey, dude, where did you go instead? Or did you just tote the lady back home? I feel your pain. You have suffered.
