Enrollment down at Averill Park schools
#1 Feb 2, 2010
Of course enrollment is down, people are leaving the state to raise their families where it doesn't cost so much. This is a direct result from all the taxes and fees imposed on upstate NY hindering us from a better quality of life for our children.
If things don't change soon in this state, I'll take my family and company to Vermont or Maine.

Too bad my school taxes won't go down because I'm not paying for as many kids.

Yeah, it is too bad. When I was growing up in the 80's Averill Park High School was loaded with beautiful girls!!! All kidding aside APHS is a great school. I know my ex moved from Wynantskill to the Averill Park district so my daughter wouldn't have to attend Troy High. And I'm not saying anything bad about the education you get from Troy high but it is very difficult for a school, who had to keep laying people off, to provide security for all it's students. When my daughter did attend it for her freshman years there were several fights a day there.
