The people in Strathmere act as if the beaches will leave upper township with them if the leave. I feel those beaches belong to all the people of Upper township, not just Strathmere.I think we ,the rest of the township should make it clear to them that if they leave us, the beaches stay.
Also that we will require them to purchas a non resident beach tag. If Sea Isle wants our beaches, we should tell them that we regard them as a valuable asset which is not for sale

Strathmere has always regarded its beaches as proprietary. The late Mrs. Burgess and her husband were fond of swimming in the buff at night, so began showing up at Towmship meetings to get all kinds of restrictions to make it difficult to access. If you do go to the bach there, they put boards and milk crates all along the beach blocks so you can't park. They suck.

Bunch of creins. They just want to be able to swim in the nude at night.

If Upper Township lets Strathmere go, and it represents 20% of the tax rateables, then will the Township Politboro and staff get a 20% pay cut? They should, right? And also, the tax assessor, the tax collector, the trash budget, etc.

Mrs. Bergus was also an citizen advocate, for Strathmere, in local township affairs. She was such a regular presence at Upper Township meetings that one week, when she was absent visiting family, the township minutes included the line: "Missed Mrs. Bergus." She was a member of the Zoning Board, and also served as Deputy Emergency Manager for Upper Township with responsibility for Strathmere, monitoring storm and other disaster threats and helping to organize evacuations.
