Melissa Evens was sentenced to three weeks in jail and probation. Finally she was prosucuted!! What pisses me off is my tax dollars went to all of this and now she has to pay!!! People who need it I understand but when you abuse the system you taking taxpayers hard earned money. karma will get you everytime and IT DID. Way to go Division of social Services and the judge who sentenced her!! She stole from US the tax payers.

I have paid taxes and get tired of working for everyone when my kids have to do without because someone else is living off what taxes I pay.
I don't know Melissa and don't know the how or why she got convicted,but I can say that it don't matter if she did drugs or not she stole money from the rest of us and it don't matter how much it was.

When you sign the papers at DFS, it states the penalty for lying is much greater than 3 weeks. We should all go and lie on the form....what is 3 weeks in jail.....free food, someone to clean up for ya, TV, visitors on Saturdays,REST, and no kids of your own to bother ya. Doesn't sound like she did to bad. Does she have to pay any restitution????? Doubt it.

If it isn't, I hope you don't have kids. I have a great time with my kids and want them around. If it was supposed to be a joke, I'm thinking that she did what she could to keep away from her kids and therefore needs to be away from them.

thats why she left her kids for the drugs with the government pd that DFS money....I was like 500 a week for all those kids to be left Pam who cares who got the money SHE FUCKIN ABUSED A SYSTEM THAT MANY MANY DO AND MY TAX DOLLARS GO TOWARD THIS!! You all sound like you pay millions of dollars per year in teaxes! Bull shit! DFS money comes from State taxes which you pay very little of, and at that, very, very little of your state tax money goes to DFS so go sing you holier than thou song somehwere else! Then you take the minute cents you do get taken out of your taxes and multiply that by millions of other people paying the same taxe and that's where DFS gets their finds. You are not paying perhaps i milliom of 1 percent of a dollar to DFS each year so stop acting like you are supporting the world.
Truth is, DFS should DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS and check people out BEFORE they pay you so-called tax dollars out. If they had of checked on the babysitters they were paying to care for Melissa'a children, they would have KNOWN it was a bunch of shit! DFS sits on their asses, drinks coffee, and shoots the shit and push pencils! If you turn somebody into DFS that is committing fraud, they SAY they investigate, but somehow their investigations always come back UNSUBSTANTIATED! So is it any wonder that so many people are allowed to abuse the system and get away with it? Don't put blame and hatred on those you get it over on them, start with THEM and MAKE them DO THEIR JOBS, get out of their comfy little office cubicles and pad the pavement and check out these claims for assistance BEFORE they pay out your tax dollars! Ask yourself why didn't they ever question the caregivers they were paying to care for her kids, if she was working? Why didn't they ever make her bring in checkstubs from her jobs, showing the hours she was supposed to have worked that week and that they were paying babysitters for, BEFORE they wrote out the checks? Trust and beleive, DFS don't give a fuck who gets paid, it doesn't come out of those casewroker pockets so they don't give a damn enought to check out their payees. They get so much money each year from the government, and they have to givce it all out and be in the hole before the end of their physical year or they do not get any more money the next year, they only get what they can PROVE they spent in the previous year.

But like I said in the beginning, they never PAID Melissa, they paid the caregivers who were babysitting her kids. The checks went to them not her! And furthermore, in my opinion, the ones who were babysitting for her,(her brother's girlfriends, etc.,) KNEW she wasn't working and they were still handing in weekly paysheets, documenting how many hours they babysitted her kids while she was supposedly at work or looking for work! They got the checks, not Melissa, so why aren't they paying back the money DFS paid them fraudulently! Everybody is eligible for help from DFS if you are in ad certain "poverty" or "low-income" bracket, according to how big your family is and how much you earn yearly. If you are within that bracket, then you qualify for assistance, I am not sure but I think the yearly income allowed falls way above what most people make in this area, so you can get assistance if you qualify! If you are working 2 jobs and you own 2 homes and/or 2 cars, no, you cannot get anything until you liquidate some of those assets, after you do you can get assistance.
What about all these bitches in town that take their TANF money for their kids, their child support, and their food stamps and buy drugs for themselves, their boyfriends, and other friends every month, I don't see anyone on here bitching about their tax dollars being spent on them! Get off Melissa and shut your face! She's just as good as the rest of you holier than thou freaks any day!

Yes, she has to pay restitution, which I do not htink is fair since she did not get that money! The babysitter's got the money and spent that money, they should have to pay it back, they knew she wasn't working! They also signed papers saying they would be responsible for repayment for fraudulent acts of caregiving.

For all kim knew Melissa was working...but was joy riding with different men who drove big rigs to support her drug habit believe me I know!!! you Pam if was someone else you would be all over them.....whats the difference if the money was given to kim. Melissa went in and took one of her male friends paystub and said they halfed it... Hell this was why Amber beat the living hell out of Melissa. and something over Melissa getting foodstamps their daughter when wasnt living with Melissa. Amber stomped her ass sent her to the hospital. Go Amber!!

I am not saying what Melissa did was the right thing, she broke the law but isn't is funny how she can get jail time yet the thousands of the rest of the maggots don't even get charged? That's what this system here in this county is all about, they charge those they WANT to charge and Let all the others go and turn their freakin heads! And Rachel, Kim KNEW EXACTLY WHERE MELISSA WAS AND WHAT SHE WAS DOING WHEN SHE ACCEPTED THAT PAYCHEK! And yes, I KNOW very well, as Kim and Darin brough Tamara to me one night when PeeWee was all fuc*ed up and thinking cops were in the trees outside his trailer! Melissa was not working, she was at my son's house being an informant for Koop, so maybe she WAS working, for the cops! But at any rate Kim knew all about what was happening so don't be trying to defend her now!
True it is not right for these people to abuse the system, but such is life and we all have to tolerate it because we cannot do anything about it. All I am saying is if they prosecuted Melissa, they should have got them all for the restitution! You can bet, Kim got paid for the night I kept Tamara all night by DFS, do you think she turned it in that Melissa was at Mike's,(where her and Peewee went after they brought Tamara to me) or told DFS Kim didn't take care of Tamara that night, that me and my mom cared for her?
