I've lived in Ava my entire life and I don't know of any propane company around that takes better care of their customers than Cash Gas. I also know many customers of Douglas County Propane that have switched to Cash Gas because they weren't happy with the service that they were getting. I am sure that during the freezing temperatures, all of the propane companies were busy taking care of their own customers. If Cash Gas was too busy to get to you when you wanted, you could have called any of the other propane companies in the area. As for the comment "they can stop being a human being" ...I don't know of many other gas companies that give their customers the opportunity to charge their propane for months at a time without charging interest, or that don't charge for service calls, or rent on tanks, and don't charge to come out on the week-end or after hours to fix stoves and heaters or to fill gas tanks - but Cash Gas has never charged extra for any of these things. Maybe that is why they've been in business for 31 years! So if you aren't happy with Cash Gas, then don't call them - but don't say that they "don't care" about their customers, because that is a blatant lie.

Amen to the last post! I have been a customer for years and I am horrible about letting my gas run out and the last time I did it was freezing, on a weekend and late Randy was out of town so Burly came right over then later that night Randy hadn't got the message that Burly came so Randy came as soon as I he got back in town around 8. They take very good care off everyone!

Once again it sounds like there is More going on here than the OP (original Poster) has shared. A previous encounter, a circumstance , or other factor that is not being shared. I am sure if the conversation they had on the phone was recorded the original poster would not have cause to post.

Funny too is that while it was chilly and maybe some would call cold it was NOT FREEZING! there was no frost on anything when I went to feed the animals at 6 am. So give'em a extra blanket and call it learning a life lesson. BTW it is possible to have a secondary tank at less than $100 to make sure this never happens again.

Cash Gas has switched orifices in gas dryers, Changed doors to open from left to right on dryer and washer and number of other things for me that they did not have to do and never charged a cent cause I purchased propane from them. And always came quickly if necessary.

I own my own tank so I have used all 3 suppliers in Ava. I have never had a complaint about any of them. I try to use them all.

I remember once I ran out & a cold spell was comming. I called Phillip at 8 pm when I noticed I was out & he came at 10:30 that night.

On the other hand Burrely has been very prompt when I have needed him at short notice.

And Larry at Titan is top notch. A good guy, he'd help you do anything he could.

When prices went up once, Phillip apologized for the raise. He didn't have to do that.

As far as LP suppliers I think the Ava area is blessed.

Yes joshua it was freezing out that night.....my job requires me to work outside 50% of the time and that night at 11pm when I got the call we had ran out it WAS -10 WITH THE WIND CHILL SO THATS PRETTY DAMN COLD IF YOU ASK ME.Im not saying that Cash is a horriable company I AM from Thornfield myself and Cash gas was all we ever used while I was growing up...The reason I use Phillip is he is a great person and family friend and if for some reason I dint have the money on that day he brought me propane and let me pay him on payday...who else does that unless you have been with them 30 years and Im not even 30 yet!!! I had the money in hand and politely called Burley to see if he would help me...he was rude and hurtful and had no right to make me cry like he did...The whole point is is that I had cash in hand and no one was willing to help and to me thats shitty.....

When I lived in a rural area a few years ago, a competitor gas company wouldn't/couldn't fill your tank due to liability reasons. Not sure that's in play in your case. Then again, when it came to utilities and keeping the family warm, I made damn sure it was in the annual budget to do so, and always stayed on top of making sure the gas was never less than 1/4 full. Just sayin.

An ounce of prevention.

Cash Gas is a so wonderful to us they come anytime we call weekends or freezing weather! My pilot light went out on my hot water heater in the house and Randy came in and lit it with no charge. We don't know both sides of the story on first post...... and I know there's more to the story.Satisfied customers should confirm that they are a caring company that goes above and beyond to help Douglas county residents!

well first of all if you own your own tank they will bring you gas. Whoever if you dont own it then you have to buy from the leased company any gas company is that way. So get off your high horse I have ran out and called the company i have the tank leased from which is Cash gas I called Randy after hours at home and he brought me gas after hours so gripe about who you ahve your tank leased from which obviously is not Cash Gas

I know when I used to use propane for heat that if your tank was leased from a certain company then you could only buy propane from the company your tank was leased from. Unfortunately, if that tank is leased there is no way around it. We finally bought a tank so that we could use whichever gas company we wanted because I wasn't happen with the current prices of the company we were using. Titan propane (not sure if that's still their name or not) was always higher than Douglas County Propane or Cash Gas. I've never had any problems with any of the propane companies in town, other than Titan being higher than the other guys.
