I worked at Copeland for almost a year and it it a damn god job with good pay. As far as boses, there are ggod and bad everywhere. As long as you show up, on time, clock in and out, on time and dodn't fail a drug test you will have a job. They have excellent bnefits, they do a lot for their employees, and are there anytime you have a complaint or proble. Barnett was one of the best bosses I ever had. I had never worked in a factory before and was very unprepared for the adultry, gossip, and back biting but later found out it's par for the course in a factory. I was already middle aged when I started with bad, kness, a bad back, and a little heavier than average. I worked Op 40 and our packing are was being rebuilt so we had to cart parts to the new end of the building. In the first 2 months I lost 25 pounds. I had a great diet and got paid while I was on it! The only reason I saw anyone fired while I was there was for points and talking on their phone in the gage room. It's not as if they didn't know. I often wish I was still there then I wouldn't have the money problems I have. I just had too many health issues, had to miss a day every month just to recooperate, and could never get used to that 3 rd shift. If I were still there I could now be on 1st ship amd trasferred to another department. I could get my knees fixed and get glasses as well as having back surgery. The one thing I saw unfair was that unless you were under 25, female and blond our supervisor gave you no favors. I know that's what everyone says. However, after I left he got fired for having an affair with the blond 25 year old in our dept! He was a whore! I have relatives who have worked there for years and will probably reyire there and have never goyyen in trouble. Show up for work on tine, do your job, and you can retire from Copeland with good benefits!!

Don't blame Copeland Blame the politicians you have elected in the City and The County. They do not try to attract any other Business or Factories into Douglas County. There, for Copeland has no competition and can pay and treat employees any way they want. Most of the Employees cannot leave to get a better Job without Driving a long Distance.

I agree with Eddie. When it's the only place in town to work, then either you join them or hate them. Judging by this thread, there is a lot of haters out there!

You only get 6 points now. Too many people taking advantage of it when we got 12. So we Screwed ourselves. If you leave plant while on the clock, it could be bad for them, they are liable for you. If nothing else suppose there were a fire, you would be unaccounted for, could cause someone else a problem trying to find you. I do think they ought to do random drug testing. But they can't afford to, would lose too many people.
