I CARE ABOUT PVILLE
|
This may not be the most earth shattering thing happening on the earth right now, but this should be important to the citizens of Pinckneyville, IL. It might be time for the Police Chief to step down from a position that he was begged to take on by the last council. Just maybe he could not be dragged through the mud and beheaded beforehand. Chief Buddy has done a respectable job and should be given the chance at a sargeant's position again at the pay he is recieving now, so he can fill his years till retirement. This much is owed to him. I believe when the people see the mayor trying to moderate his actions they will see the Chief do the same. This Mayor has taken cuts in one department and not across the board. And to the public it apears that a very obvious oversight has been given to an office in favor of a council member's daughter. The Police force did not need all the cuts just to get rid of one problem officer and reprimand the Chief. The public can see through that. I do not know how much more the citizens of this town can endure. We have lost so much. Now a Mayor that will not even socialize with the public in this town anymore. You have to take the good with the bad. And we do have alot of bad right now...including your way of doing business. I believe we would respond better to you explaining than just dropping bombshells and expecting us to "believe".

Well again I am sadly dissapointed to see my town on the news........I was born and raised here and have always been pround of my little town. Now....shame on some of you people. Negative ,negative, negative. Never are we on the news for positive reasons, OK maybe a tease of a "little Branson" I won't hold my breath. But to see a joke of a "strip club", closing down of a factory, leaf pick up fee, raise on gas, lay offs, police chief canned "I still do not know why"(kind of reminds me of the Dean Brewer thing....which was WRONG) selling and closing of certain parts of our hospital and building a NEW ONE??? Better beef up that staff if you think for a minute I people will use it.(with respect to the ones who are currently there). Can this little town not GROW for once. Hell if we can pull in darn near half are population to support or basketball team (minus the prison population...THE ONE POSITIVE THINGS WE HAVE GOT IN A LONG TIME) can we not get along and better our town. Come on folks, the Mayor may have his reasons and Buddy too. It's ashame Honesty, and good Christian like behavior can not blend with politics!

Well I attened the meeting last night . What I saw Buddy would not say what the problems were when asked. He said I don't agree with some of them. The council wouldn't say what the problems were because they promised Buddy not to make it public. Finally some of it came out that Buddy has not been inforcing court orders to residents that will not clean up their properties. Pinckney has codes and they do have to be inforced. Some residents seem to think junk is beautifulbut most of us do not. Maybe the mayor could have worked with Buddy and incorpated rules on how to proceed in processing court orders if none are in place already. I some are in place all ready Maybe Buddy has become to lax in his job after 31 years.
